An acid-containing cleaner such as LimeAway can deal with the deposits but may also cause some damage to the machine if left too long.

The softener is another matter; these are made from an emulsion of water and paraffin wax along with several other chemicals.
This can be very difficult to remove and yields mostly only to mechanical means of removal.

How to replace blue fabric softener dispenser? Came out easily but cannot replace it. Thank You LG WT1101CW

SOURCE:Fabric Softener Won't Dispense
The fabric softener dispenser is notorious for clogging. Liquid fabric softener is essentially a liquid form of wax. After a period of time it begins to gunk up the inside of the fabric softener dispenser. If you remove the dispenser drawer and look into the cavity, there should be a series of holes in the upper part of the compartment where water sprays into all the dispenser trays. These holes get gunked up and clogged and water will not dispense properly. As a result, the washer goes through a complete cycle, but the dispenser stays full. If this is the case, you can take some cotton swabs and/or toothpicks and clean these holes real good. It may be a bit meticulous, but it should take care of the problem. Post back and let me know if this helps.

Zanussie essential 1400 smell of mould can't get rid of it

g'day. Move the machine to check for leaking water. This could be from the taps in the back, or hose clamps throughout the machine and could be causing chronic dampness around the machine. Also check for filter to clean pump. You might have to look under the machine. The soap draw can also get clogged up - but generally doesn't smell. good luck

Washing machine will not draw fabric conditioner

The Solution: Top up the softener tray with extra water so that it is up to the 'max level' mark.

The softener tray works by a siphon action. Thus, the reason the tray does not empty is that not enough water is added by the machine during the softening cycle, so that the machine does not completely fill the softening tray; only when the softening tray is filled beyond the 'max' mark does the siphon action works. A partially filled tray will never empty - it's impossible due to the siphon.

The reason that not enough water is added to the tray during the softening action is that the water inlet of the machine is partial blocked (you can try to fix that) but it is simpler to just added more water to the conditioner tray.

Thus, the easiest way to ensure that the softener tray empties every time (after adding the softener to the softener tray of course) is to top up the softener tray with extra water, top it up to the 'max level' line (keep a bottle of water by the machine). That way, even if only a little water is added to the softener tray during the softening cycle by the machine it is enough to trigger the siphon action and the tray will empty!

Works for me every time, and no need to remove any parts - I used to take the tray out, clean it, scrub the outlet holes that fill the tray etc, but they used to gum up again quite quickly!

Hope that helps

Fabric softener dispenser no longer works on my Bosch, the dispenser remains full of fabric softener, all else ok Bosch classixx 1200 express

Remove soap drawer completely from washer, and thoroughly clean all parts of it, paticularly the conditioner compartment..
Get a piece of stiff wire, and make a right angled bend in the end of it, then poke the wire into all the holes in the top of the soap drawer compartment to clear any possible blockage.
This should solve the prob.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

Fabric softener not dispensing

Fabric softner trays often clog up, because a little soap powder in the tray by accident tends to block it. If you pull the soap tray out as far as it will go, you will see that there is a bit of the tray right at the back, probably on the left with an arrow or thumb print or indentation in it. If you press down on this it is a catch and it will allow you to remove the tray from the machine completely. Once out of the machine, the fabric softner cover will also lift out. Clean everything throroughly (Tak it outside and turn your garden hose full pressure on all the holes on the tray and then scrub it out with a toothbrush. Put the fabric softner tray mabc in and slide the soap tray back in the machine. This should have fixed it.
