Phone freezes when you turn it on - HTC G1

I have the same problem with my C450.

i had the same problem. so i try whatever i can
- i remove battery, put it back on, turn the phone back on. seems like it works for 3-5 minutes and freeze again
- i remove sim (only ),memory card still in there, and turn the phone back on..let it sit with no sim. and 3 minutes later it freeze again
- i remove sim, remove micro sdhc, reset the phone , the phone automatic restart..it woks... it never freeze ( no sim+ no memory card )
- i put the sim back on, no memory card, turn the phone back on and it works!!!!!!! i try these 2-3 times without memory card. works normal!!!
so..i think its a memory card issue. may be the phone doesn't like it. i have 2gb. kingston. or i have to buy a new card again.
for now its still working without freeze up for shut down by itself.

an easy way to get a freezed phone working again is to unclip the battery as trying to turn it off with the off button wont work while frozen, then put battery back in and turn phone on, that will let you use the phone. Now with the password you forgot is that the sim password or phone password?

Either the phone has a main board issue or some file corruption - hopefully for you its just the files that need to be reflashed.

If it's the board cost can be around $150-200 depending on the repair center - flashing costs $25-40

Something like this happened to me except my phone would not stop ringing an screen went all balack both sides... Try leaving your phone until the battery dies then charge it fully before turning it on it has helped me numerous times before.... reset button still works on mine it is like a miracle spot actually

I would reset the phone to factory settings and start over. Do you have the manual?
