Hi there i can no get my Xerox Phaser 8500N to print color what can i do?

Are you using Windows 7? If so, this is a known problem.
The xerox website says to uninstall the printer and reinstall with the correct driver, but this did not work for me.

We have a Xerox Phaser 8500N printer. The yellow is printing out a dingy gold. I hav checked the yellow print blocks and there is plenty.

What it essentially boils down to is that you're not printing enough color. The blocks are melted into a holding bin and will discolor over time. To correct this, you will need to purge the color that is "stale". Go to this link http://www.solid-inks.co.uk/technical_support-phaser_850_860_8200.html?category_id=1 and download the pdf for your color (I would recommend downloading all four to keep on hand). You'll want to open the PDF and print 10 to 20 copies until the bad ink is replaced with fresh ink. You'll notice the color change as the ink is purged.

Patchy color printing, streaks and dull colors using Phaser 8200

I have the same exact problem. I just switched to a mac and the colors are awful. I tried from 3 different macs at work, trying different combinations of color profiles, settings, etc, and the colors always look completely off. Blues are magenta, bright red is a dull reddish, orange is completely brown. It looks like Xerox decided to not even try to make this aspect work with the Mac. This is on the latest Mac book Pro, running Snow Leopard, to a Xerox Phaser 8560 DN.

Phaser 8560 Colors are Off

Here are the directions for Tec Color correction. If this doesnt work then replacing the print head is the most likely solution. The TekColor correction options provide simulations of different color devices. Automatic is the default correction for general image processing. Use the following table to determine what option you want to use. TekColor Description Automatic Applies the best color correction to each graphic element: text, artwork, and photographs Office Color sRGB Display: Approximates the colors on a computer display. sRGB Vivid: Produces brighter, more saturated colors than sRGB Display. Press Match SWOP Press: Matches specifications for Web Offset Publications. Euroscale: Matches Fogra glossy paper specification. Commercial: Approximates U.S. commercial press target. SNAP Press: Matches specifications for Newsprint Advertising Production. None Applies no color correction. Use with other color management tools, such as International Color Consortium (ICC) profiles, ColorSync, or the PANTONE Color Chart for the printer. Black & White Converts all colors to shades of gray From the workstation, select the color correction in a supported driver. Microsoft Windows 98 SE / ME / 2000 / XP/ Server 2003 / NT 4.x Operating Systems (OS): NOTE: Some of the color corrections are grouped under Office Color or Press Match. 1. Within an application, click [File] from the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed. 2. Click on the [Properties] button located on the top, right of the window. The Properties window will be displayed. 3. Click on the [TekColor] tab. 4. Select the required color correction. Apple Macintosh OS 9.x: 1. Within an application, click [File] from the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed. 2. Click on [General], and then select [TekColor] from the pull-down menu. 3. Select the required color correction. Apple Macintosh OS X, (version 10.2 and higher): 1. Xerox 8500n with error 13323.47:23971

13,323 is a Printhead Reservoir Temperature Faults . One of 3 things. In order of likeliness.
1. Print head has failed
2. Cable to the back of the print head is loose.
3. Electronics module has failed..

What that code means is that once the ink melts and flowes into the print head, the print head is not maintaining the proper temperature.

Check the paper path for any and all debris. Use canned air to remove any debris. Also check the paper tray guides to see if they are matched correctly.

I can't get rid of the margins when i print something

I'm guess you are printing from MS Word? Click File the "Page Setup" Click the layout tab the far right then go to the bottom and click borders and select the NONE option. You should have your borders removed!! =) That is if that is the type of border you are talking about.

Cheers!!
