After inserting disc, wii makes a high pitched noise like a fan dragging a blade on something. it will not play any wii games but it will play game cube games fine. The fan on the back works ok.

actually this isnt the guitar this is the system. the disc is probably scratched and can be buffed out at game shops, or you can actually buy game buffers at places like Wal-Mart.
you may need to get a trigram screwdriver to undo the funny screws in the wii and take a look, mine had a piece of paper in it and it sometimes stopped discs coming out.
The noise is the wii working extra hard to read the disk the lens might be dirty. Your wii might also have a bomb in it.............Just kidding. I would try cleaning the inside and if all is bad send it in to get fixed
Hello my name is Tim Ehrhart, I repair 360's and have had this problem with them and there problem is that the magnet that holds the disk in place gets stuck and makes a grinding noise that sounds horrid. Please leave feedback as I am new and trying to build a great rep. Thank You.
I think thats normal. If your really annoyed about it, Play some music that cancels out the noise. I'm sure the in-game music your playing should go over the buzzing noise.
