Getting to fuse

I seem to have blown a 6A fuse in my mixing board. I took out the 2 screws in the back of the mixer, and all I got was a sealed black unit that says 6A fuse? Is the whole unit the fuse, or is the fuse inside the box. If so how do I get it open?

250 watts k45ss classic stand mixer doesn't run

My first guess would be the speed control plate. It has three screws in an upside down triangular shape. The two screws on top control and adjust speeds 1 thru 6, and often times just one screw being out a 16th of a turn will shut the mixer off completely. I would venture that when you were removing the two stud bolts you moved the adjustment screws on the speed control plate. Remember that even a slight movement can shut down your mixer, take a phillips screwdriver and turn the top left screw one quarter turn while the machine is on, it can start on you so don't be shocked and jump with a loaded screwdriver in your hand at the back of an electrical device, stay calm, if no start then try the left screw a quarter turn, if it does not start go to a half turn on each screw, if still no start turn thr screws back to the start place and try the bottom screw a quarter turn left and right, if you do not start by now, then something is wrong in another place, go back to the brushes and take them out and check how you put them in, these are the two most common problems with a no start mixer. If this does not fix your problem or get the mixer to start please come back here with more info. If you motor raced in the first place then I would suspect the phase control board, but when it came back to normal speed it leades me away from the phase board. When the phse control board goes out the mixer only works at high speed. So please let us know so that we can help further.

My Model K5SS was making a squealing sound when mixing. I unscrewed the black screws on the sides to check the lubricant but when I replaced them the mixer will not turn on at all. Is there a reset...

Those plastic screws on the sides are for the brushes for the motor. If you took them out, they need to be re-inserted in the same side they came out of and the curve in the end of the brush has to match the shaft. If you take them back out and look at them there will be a half circle appearance to the ends. Make sure that you put it back in so that the they look like this ( ) in the mixer.

Mixer head loose

Turn the mixer upside down and you'll see the screws up inside that hold the head to the base. You'll need a long screw driver.

Diesel fuel is mixing with the coolant and getting into the radiator what seems to be the prob?

Most likley the seals round the injector sleeves have gone .

EHM80 - 200watt mixer. Need to get inside mixer (no screws seen)

I don't know that mixer , sometimes a screw is hidden under the start button, see if it can be prised out without damage to the switch.

The latch/switch on the speed control board is stuck

You need to take the back cover off and then split the gear cases to find the mechanical reason why the lever is stuck. Take the motor off the pedestal, remove the planetary and undo the 9 screws that hold the bottom gearcase to the top housing. You will need to unplug the white and the black wires from one side of the speed control plate.

Taking the top off my kitchenaid mixer

Remove the back housing by removing one screw and liftingand pulling rearward.
Remove two screws holding the metalic edge trim. This uncovers the seam. Screws are on the back.
Remove four visible screws from the bottom of the head around and near the pillar.
Now gently using a screw driver, push the metallic ring on the mixing head down and off.
This uncovers five more screws about the mixing head. Remove them.
Using a very small screw driver or punch, puch the pin out of the mixing head shaft.
Remove the mixing head housing.
Lift up on the motor housing to remove it.
The motor/gear housing is the top protion of the mixer. Its loaded with grease so do this over a covered countertop or some place easy to clean. The grease won't run, but it can fall out in gobs.
Make sure all sealing surfaces are clean, especially the gasket around the gears. This will insure a good seal. No gear grease in your famous cookies!
Reinstall in reverse.

there are 3 small red rectangular shape objects to the right of the flyback transformer these are fuses the fl231 most time goes bad .fl231 is the location number under the green circuit board. the location number can also be wriitten on top(brown side of the cicuit board)
you may have to put back the .6a you took out was it ok?

On the bottom of the machine is the base plate, remove it. You will see a black box (the transformer) that needs to be dismantled. Once inside you will see 2 fuses, one will be blown.
Replace the blown fuse, do not remove both fuses at the same time and get them confused.I bought replacements at Radio Shack. Good Luck

Kitchen Aid 525 Watt Mixer (Model KP2671XWH)

This mixer has a control board on the back that has 2 contacts points, if it is out of adjustment, the machine will not run. You need to adjust the 2 screws at the top (where the springs are) to make the contacts connect. That should solve your problem.
