On your Sansa Go to "Settings" then "System Settings" then "USB Mode," change it to MSC, now try connecting it. If that doesn't work try the other modes just in case.
Hope this helps!

16 gig chip not recognized by my mac pc

It's not the computer, it's the Sansa. The e260 uses microSD cards, which only go up to 2GB, not microSDHC cards such as the 16GB one you have.

Half of song list not recognized by Sansa e260

i will surely help you. you have mentioned that you can see all the songs when your mp3 player is connected to the computer. so what you can do is, you can very well go ahead & format all the songs in your mp3 player using your computer. then you transfer a few songs to your mp3 player(the songs which were not getting recognized in your mp3 player). this should solve your problem.

I downloaded a Sansa video converter and it keeps saying that my Sansa is not connected after i connect it. Can i have some assistance please?

do u have windows or mac system? if mac,
Although MAC OS is NOT a supported operating system, the Sansa player can still be recognized if the Sansa player is only plugged in MSC mode.

MAC computers do NOT support MTP
A Sansa player in MTP mode when plugged into a MAC computer will NOT be detected or recognized.

MAC computers supports Sansa players in MSC mode
Sansa players can only be recognized by a MAC if the USB mode on the Sansa player is set to Auto Detect or MSC.
See answer ID 207 for instructions on how to put your Sansa player in MSC mode.

See answer ID 1141 for instructions on transferring music to your Sansa player using iTunes on a MAC computer.

My XP system does not recognize Sandisk Sansa e260

The XP did not recognize the device because I used a after- marked USB expander board that did not provide enough power to the device. Plugging to the Motherboard - attached USB port solved the problem.

Sansa e260 will not connect to computer

Unplug the Sansa from the computer. Turn it off. Hold in the REC button. Reconnect the Sansa to the computer while holding in the REC button. After 10-15 seconds of continuing to hold in the REC button, a window should pop up saying "Found New Hardware Wizard." Complete the Wizard.
