My kitchenaid microwave will not heat in microwave mode. In fact the turntable starts and stops and the display blinks intermittenly. In convection oven mode everything works fine - It heats, turntabl

The magnetron is the main part that gives out microwaves to heat the food. As the convection bit is working this points towards the microwave bits.
The magnetron has a main diode, fuse and transformer to run the microwave bit, any of these could be faulty. A word of warning though, there are extremely high voltages inside microwaves, even when unplugged in the main capacitor. Also to repair this section you will need to be a fully qualified engineer to even order parts for this.

Breville microwave bre731sse user manual

see this steps and fix it. God bless you

  1. Check the power diodeThis electronic component is responsible for transmitting current in one direction. If the diode becomes defective it will cause your microwave to not heat. Test the diode and replace it if necessary.
  2. High voltage capacitorResponsible for storing electricity, this part is a key component in any microwave. Remove, discharge, and test the capacitor to determine if it requires replacement.
  3. Damaged magnetronResponsible for generating waves and producing heat. When your microwave is no longer heating properly, replacement will be required.
  4. Thermal CutoffsExamine the thermal cutoffs on both the magnetron and the oven itself. Take off one of the leads and using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check the terminals. If you get a result other than zero, replace the thermal cutoffs.

GE microwave not heating, sensor error.

first suspect is the inverter board (power) and magnatron a distant second----in either case the part involved unless an expensive unit is pricey.

Microwave display flashing & beeping.

You have a failed membrane keypad.

On this model, GE doesn't make any parts available except the tray and the roller.

If it's in warranty, they will exchange or repair it.

It it's out of warranty, you're out of luck.

I'd advise you to contact GE Customer Service in case they may be able to help you.

KitchenAid KBMS1454R 1000 Watts Microwave Oven

Sounds like the keypad is okay, unless it might be intermittent.

Your wall voltage is within the proper range.

It sounds like it might be bad connections on the control board causing functional and display problems.

I work on control panels, actually, but I can't find any service data (yet?) on this model.

There should be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

Did you find it?

Any chance you could scan and e-mail it to me?

Please feel free to contact me directly.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
