My purtek dvd player model BDI7220 has no sound

• To reset the DVD player unplug the DVD player for 10 seconds.
• Confirm that the TV has been set to the corresponding video connection of the DVD player.
• DVD player has three video outputs.Video, S-video and RGB-component.
• If current connection to TV is not working and the TV has an alternative video consistent with the DVD player try the second.
• Try DVD player on another TV

If your surround sound receiver unit has rca audio inputs(red/white), you can hook up any brand of DVD player that has rca outputs. You would hook the yellow output from DVD player to yellow input on TV. Hook red/white output from DVD player to red/white input on surround receiver. Hope this helps.

Some DVD players will only output sound on one output at a time. For instance HDMI or through the analog (red/white) connectors. Check the on-screen menus on the DVD player and be sure your correct output is enabled.
If this doesn't work, please post the model number of your DVD player along with what connections you are using.

C14 was leak and resistor R2 burn out, I replace C14 with 0.1 uF and R2 with a chip fuse, sound after that was great at the speakers.

While I could not find it in the manual, I found that you must
go to the menu, open Sound Options and set Speakers to "Fixed".

Note: If you turn off the Surround Sound or DVD player combination you must then go back to the menu and turn the speakers back to Televsion.

Try using a diferent rf cables.I would suggest that red,white and yellow colour coded RF cable is still the best.(yellow for Pictuer,White for sound and red also for sound(surround).
had similar problem than i cahnge the cables and found out that it worked with that cable...

Usually if the DVD player is not an Amp, then the surround sound comes from the DVD player through the TV out through the speakers??

i have Prism DVD/MP3/CD Player Model DVD-352P as well, its remote not working any more. Any suggestion to reset the remote or reset the dvd player?

I havent seen this model But in the past I have heard this problem arise. It turned out that there was a mute button for the cd only on the remote and there was no indicator to show it. check for a cd mute or go into the cd play menu and check around in there.
