Fender: Corona Corona factory was opened in 1985, Corona California, with major guitar production starting in 1987. With the addition of a custom shop in 1987 the plant currently employs about 700 workers. What model Fender is it?

The guitar is indeed a 2002 fender stratocaster. Many prefer older strats because they believe them to be of higher quality. It also depends on where it was produced. Mexican strats are okay, Chinese are usually the least liked.

N seems to denote American Made Strats though, American made are superb.

Serial number starting with M indicates a Mexi Fender, if thats what you mean. It is a real Fender, it is just made in a plant in Mexico for much cheaper, and sold for much cheaper. I've played some Mexican Fenders that played better than American, and generally they are all decent, but most of the time people would rather have the American versions.
