The reason for the dishwasher to default to Rinse only cycle is likely the heater is faulty. Does this happen with both the drawers?

Also make sure the top panel switches are clean. Use a damp clean cloth and wipe the top panel inside drawer.

Have you tried to turn the mains power switch off and on to see if it resets the drawer to off state. Need a bit more detail of what you see on the display etc. when you try to turn back on.

If there is no power on both the drawers then 2 things
1. the circuit breaker on the mains power supply feeding the dishwasher has tripped
2. the power board that feeds the drawers is faulty. This is located at the base under the bottom drawer.
The drawers won't open because the power has failed mid cycle and the drawer seal actuator motors are locked in down position.
You can force open the drawers but this could require some mechanical adjustments to the actuator yokes if the two sides are out of alignment when power is restored. In any case you will have to force open the bottom drawer to get access to the power board. The part looks like this but may not be the one specific to your model. You will have to contact a parts dealer local to your area.

The only reset function available is to turn the mains power off and back on.

Hi- It sounds like the controller is loose. It snaps into the drawer frame on upper right hand corner of the drawer, directly under the LED lights. You can try squeesing the door panel and the tub together the LED's and see if you can advance the cycles. Otherwise you may need someone to come out and remove the panel and check the controller. You can try unplugging the DW and seeing if it will reset itself. Good luck.

If you have a single drawer unit, then most likely cause is the drain is blocked at the kitchen sink end.

IF that is not an issue, then the filter plate and drain sump need to be cleaned.

An expert from another site says it's a faulty control panel and may need new actuators.

fisher and paykel sent me a solution - turn off at wall and unplug then turn back on. The dishwasher reset itself and the drawer unlocked.
