Landline phone keeps fading

Landline phone fades, then resumes very loud. Have tried two carriers, Time Warner Cable, and AT&T. Repairmen from both companies cannot fix this.

SOURCE: My landline phone won't ring, but I can get and make calls!!

My experience with an old (100+) and newer house is that it is important to make sure your telephone wires coming into the house, and the junction block where all the wires connect, stay clean and dry. If the wires can get damp or dirty, then when that 90 volts of ringing voltage come down the line, it may find a low impedance path. At my old house I had to make sure the outside wires didn't touch the ground or get damp. In my newer house, I discovered the wiring block was near a dryer vent where it got a ton of fuzz on it, plus the moisture, so eventually our phones stopped ringing even though we could make calls and our DSL was not affected. When we exposed and cleaned up the wiring block so that the phone company tech could re-visit us to troubleshoot things, suddenly it started working again.

My landline is dead do not get a dialling tone tried to call from mobile not ringing on landline how do I test my equipment

I keep an old plug in phone for testing. Portable phones don't do well for testing.
IF you have the access you can open the outside connection box for the phone as it comes into your home and the phone jack plug is right there. If the phone works there, it's something in your house. If it doesn't, it's the phone company's problem.
Just FYI my phone company and my state doesn't regulate this. Yours might.

How do i change the voicemail on my landline and how do i retrieve messages on telkom landline.

Hello, Janine -

The voice mail and message service for your landline phone is provided by your landline service provider. If you did not receive a printed booklet directions for your landline phone service, I suggest you call your landline telephone service provider Customer Service number (Telkom) and ask for one.

From the Telkom web site, this looks like the number to call:
10210

My landline is hook up to ciso an thats hook up to netgear how do i make calls out

If it's a cable modem you should have your phone landline connected to the cable model, if you have a "bundle". TV, Broadband, Phone with your provider. For example: I have Comcast/Xfinity bundle, TV, Phone, High Speed Internet. At the Comcast Modem it has a Phone jack RJ-11 for landline and Fax and a RJ-45 for my Wireless Access Point and Ethernet cable.

My computer keeps telling me to type in a password every few mins

I suspect that you have your computer set to go to a power-saving mode in a very short time and then have password protection enabled to resume normal operation. In the Control Panel, find the screen saver option (I suspect you can also get there from righ clicking on any unused section of the display and choose Graphics Properties and go from there). Uncheck the box for "On resume, display logon screen"; also adjust the wait time to one that better suits your usage.

I hope this helps.
