Ok, so are you saying NO LIGHTS come on to tell you what issue is on the dash? The beeping you hear is a low oil pressure warning beep. Its telling you that you are either low on oil or that the oil pump is not delivering oil properly to the motor (car is sensing low oil pressure but on these cars there is no oil pressure gauge on dash to look at). Check your oil level and make sure you are not low. Best time is in morning on flat surface start car and let run 5 minutes. Stop car, let sit 5 minutes and then pull dipstick and check level. Also make sure you are using the correct oil and viscosity for this motor. VW's require VW certified oil and a certain viscosity. You can go to www.mobil1.com to find the correct oil available in the states for your vehicle. Too thin or too thick a viscosity could cause similar issue. Otherwise please clarify the light comment as I have never heard of the lights coming on automatically after a beeping noise and I will research.
Hi! I believe that is the check engine light. It means that there is some part of the engine that needs attention. It can range from routine maintenance (a dirty filter for instance) to a serious problem. You will have to take it to a dealer for them to diagnose the specific error using their diagnostic computer.
I'm not sure about the Polo but for several VW models the Check Engine Light goes on when the gas cap isn't on tight (there is a sensor that monitors tank pressure). You may want to check that first.
this would not be in effect of any oil leaking i would say your oil sensor has gone and would need to be checked out by a auto electrician. i hope this helps .
