My Uline ? Model U-217RS-O is 14 months old. The problem I have is the temp will not go below 38. What can I do?

Check to see if the condenser is clean. If the coils are no free of debris, this will affect the fridge and the freezer temps. How old it it?

the capillary tube will be routed across the bottom pan towards the rear you must have the unit pulled and the back off you will see were the old one goes through back and into the inside then it is attached with a bracket with two screws

First of all, your freezer should be much lower than 38 degrees. For the ice maker to even work proplerly it has to be below 10 F. Some models have a heater that goes around the fill tube to keep that from happening, but in my opinion, if its only three days old, take it back because it's much too soon for that problem to be occuring.

I had the vacuum condenser message on my sub zero for about five years. I vacuumed it every six months (as per the owners manual) and the message would go out for about a day and then come back. I figured it was just a bad code.

Recently, my frigerator temp went from the normal 38 to 40 deg F to about 53 to 55 deg F. My freezer temperature was normal (0 deg to -2 deg F). My unit is under warranty (parts only) -- Model 560 -- so I called an authorized service company. They found that my evaporator coil was bad and replaced. I had to pay for labor and freon so my bill was about $300.

Since then -- my warning message is gone and my frig temp is at 38 deg F. Constant. No waivering.

So - for those of you with a Sub Zero with a wandering frig temp and with the "vacuum condenser" message on all the time -- I am suggesting that you get service out to look at it immedately. More than likely -- you have a freon leak and the frig cooling is insufficient leading to the error message ("vacuum condenser"). I am guessing that my frig was running all the time leading to a higher electric bill (potentially -- an extra $10 - $15/month * 12 months * 5 years of owning the house = $600 - $900 of money thrown out the window.

If the machine is under one year old, all working components are under factory warranty. Call for warranty service from selling dealer, or if you moved out of the area, an authorized Whirlpool warranty dealer.

try replacing the thermostat and the defrost timer

Not sure u have a problem.. all appliances dont HOLD a certain.. Temp.. They cycle.. come on for awhile reach a temp the shut down.. goes so low the comes back on... the middle of the cycle is the avarage temp... yours being 36 from what you posted
