Lg dvd drives plays only vcd not play dvd? - LG Computers & Internet

The LG BP420 does not play VCD's.

As you are saying that you have a Lg combo drive earlier it plays both Vcd or Dvdbut now it only plays Vcd. Your Combo drive lens must be weaken. So you should try using a lens cleaner Cd or its better to buy a new Dvd-Rom it plays or write both cds or dvds.

its either its a lens problem or that was how the CD/DVD Drive was made.

There are some drives that doesn't play white face discs, that is, they select disc and don't play all CD's, so maybe yours fall under this category.

How long have you been using your laptop and has it ever played Cd/Vcd's before?

If it plays them before, then it means your drive's lens is weak, but if it has never played them before, then it means that's how the player was made.

Which ever way, you still have an option of replacing the drive if you wish.

if you have USB PORT. JUST remove the disc from dvd unit and plug in a usb pen drive with usb port.
if you haven"t.USB PORT JUST BUY IT FROM LOCAL ELECTRONICS SHOPS AND FIT WITH YOUR DVD player.

why my dvd cann't read dvd movie

VCD play but DVD not play
and show a message (no disk) when insert DVD in combo drive

The cd tray eject after put in the DVD movies, but VCD working fine...it is means that the drive's region code haven't set yet .(please refer to user manual to setting the region code) ..or unplug the recorder drive from the dvd player,using the computer setting to change the region code by connecting to computer's IDE cable .
