It might be that you need to clean the printer heads. Your manual should tell you how to do that; also you might be able to Google an online manual for you printer model.

Why wont my samsung dvd-vr357 play blu ray disks

Educated guess is you need a blu ray player. I have several very expensive Pioneer Elite DVD players and they cannot play blu ray. Blu ray is a multi level glorified DVD which you need at least a blu ray player to play in almost all cases.

You can play dvds on a blue ray but not the reverse in most cases. If you play a dvd on a blu ray player it kicks the video up to HD for the DVD.

My mp161 is showing a dashed line on the right side of the paper. Visible even if I copy a plain white paper ... dashed line still shows. Checked the pcu. No issue.... checked on the transfer roller... I...

first clean the inside of the printer as there might be tiny strips of paper that cling to the print head assembly, second open the scanning area and clean the camera as tiny lines came from dust that was being read by the camera as an image.

When scanning I have a black line that shows up on my paper. printing is ok, no black line showing. What can i do to fix this?

Check the scanner unit for dirt on the optical pickup element. In the worst case, you have a dead sensor, but dirt or foreign objects are more likely. I've even seen lines produced by White-out that got smeared off of the original (scanned before the White-out was dry).

I am trying to scan a document and it is not working, I have a hp photosmart c4280 printer. How do I install a usb cord

hi
Place the document or image into the scanner for scanning. A scanner with a paper feeder will only receive flat papers and photographs, but a flatbed scanner opens to accommodate books, fabrics and leaves along with flat papers. There is even a attachment for feeding photo slides into flatbed scanners.
  • Step 2 Start the scanning softwaremag-glass_10x10.gif. If the scanner does not engage the software automatically, press the "start" or "scan" button, or click the scanner icon on the computer screen to initialize the software.
  • Step 3 Activate the scan. Click the "file" menu and select "acquire," "import," or another practical choice that applies.
  • Step 4 Preview the item to be scanned. Most scanners have a preview option. This will show the scan area inside dotted lines. The lines can be moved with the mouse to relocate, enlarge or crop the scanning area.
  • Step 5 Set the resolution for images by number of dots per inch (dpi). For computer screen viewing, 100 dpi should suffice. Use 200 to 300 dpi for items to be printed.
  • Step 6 Use the appropriate setting for scanning black and white text. If the scanner does not show a preset for text, use "line art" or "black and white" at 300 dpi. Then use the optical character recognition (OCR) program to convert the image of the text into a file for word processi

Trying to scan and then attach as document an 8.5 x 11 paper

Usually there will be a dashed line that is around the image. Sometimes it will just surround a darker portion of an image, such as the text portion on a white piece of paper. This is common. Use the mouse and aim it at the dashed line and "pull" the lines to the edges of your document, then press accept. This should fix your problem.

Automatic feed gives a white line in copy or scan

Although this problem would normally show as a black line on the copy, it's quite possible that there is something white (i.e. a piece of tape or paper) stuck on the scanner where the page feed passes through. Clean this area carefully with a soft cloth.

Vertical white lines in scanned image

Did you try cleaning the little glass strip where the documents go in? Lift the button panel and wipe the glass with rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs or lens paper if you have it. Mine does this sometimes when dust or white out or little bits of paper get stuck on the glass.
    Good luck!
