I believe that is a safety for if your on an incline you do not just free wheel uncontrollably. But that is not a 100% answer

SOURCE: The scooter rar wheels locked up nothing moves

hi, if the freewheel lever is jammed which is located on the drive motor, take the rear cover off and make sure the lever is not bent,

you will see how the freewheel lever is mounted under normally a rubber cover on the side of the electric motor ,

Let me know

SOURCE: why my Buzz arround XL stops or drags when in neutral.

to push start a motor bike you have to use a higher gear like third gear but if you are only pushing it from one place to another then it is better in neutral or out of gear

SOURCE: why my Buzz arround XL stops or drags when in neutral.

From what I read in owners manual, in free wheel mode (in neutral) if you push the scooter too fast, it starts to use wheels as generator. If you keep pushing it slow the slowdown or breaking will not occur. But as I found out you have to push it very slow

Scooter won't move when forward/reverse engaged.

Engage the freewheel lever
- allows you to operate the mobility equipment with the standard controls.
Disengage the freewheel lever - This unlocks the unit and allows the wheels to spin freely. You can easy push the equipment without power. This is especially helpful if you run out of battery power and need assistance.

I have a buzzaround model #gb 101. the light is green. but i noticed the reset button is pushed under the deck that you put your feet on. could that be why its not running? even tho the light is gree

Lift out the battery module below the seat. Turn upside down remove about 8 or 10 little screws. Look inside for a wire connection that came off one of the 2 batteries. Also check the inline little fuse. Check ALL wire connectors as a lot of these come loose. Note, the circuit breaker will be popped out if tripped, IN is OK.

2011 HD 883 Superlow. Can't get it into neutral.

Turn the engine off and try to get it into neutral. If you can, then it means your clutch needs adjusting. It's dragging. To adjust the clutch, find the cable adjust sleeve in the middle of the cable. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjuster sleeve inwards to get as much slack in the cable as possible.

Then, remove the derby cover from the primary cover. There is a spring and a lock nut under the derby cover. Take these out and you'll see an adjuster screw in the hole. Turn the screw counterclockwise until it stops. Then, turn the clutch 1/4 turn clockwise. Reinstall the lock nut, spring, and the derby cover.

Go back to the cable adjuster and adjust the sleeve back out until you have 1/8 inch free travel at the lever.

Good Luck

My Buzz Around is 3 years old, ridden very little and suddenly the key (a straight nail looking thing) when put in the light blinks constantly and won't run at all. Do I need a new switch, etc. or else...

Childs Betty check to make sure that the freewheel lever is in the drive position (located in the rear in or under the shroud). If the lever is in drive then you have other problems. Do all the lights on the battery level blink constantly or just a few ie 3 lights flashing. This could be a flash code indicating a problem with other items like motor or controller. If you want you can e-mail me at [email protected] and let me know what you found Hope this helps you

Clutch

Sounds like clutch adjustment needed, worst case new clutch. Another prob could be your drive chain. If its badly adjusted( too tight/too loose/not lubricated) it create a resistance on the output shaft that is freewheeling in the engine in neutral and thus affecting the drag.
