OUR TOSHIBA HAS A DOUBLE VISION/BLURRIE PICTURE. THIS PROBLEM IS ALWAYS THERE. SOMETIMES THE PICTURE IS GREAT, BUT MOST OF THE TIME ITS BLURRIE/DOUBLE. LOOKS AS IF IT ALWAYS ON 3D!! ANY SUGGESTIONS? WE WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY HELP WE CAN GET FROM ANYONE. THANK YOU!

this sounds like a convergence loss... the most likely cause of this is what is known as stk's or convergenc ic(chips) have gone bad.. also it cound be the output resistors. most likely need replaced

SOURCE: my tv toshiba 51'' rear projection wont come on, no sound or image but i hear a click when turn on and off.

most common reason is convergence problem--unsolder both chips and see if set will power up with them out of the circuit.

Ur tv have a problem known as convergence problems.Ur tv convergence board must have it 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors to be replaced to solved convergencce problems.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

Projection TV sets have several common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

Symptoms:

  • Screen Looks 3-D
  • Colors wont align
  • Screen may look distorted
  • No Audio/Video - makes a chirping sound.

Sony 51" Rear Projection TV is blurry with colored ghost images

Thats caused by a convergence failure. The Sony type 1 convergence repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com will usually correct that issue the kit contains the components and the CD with repair instructions so you can repair yourself.

Have Sony KP-57ws500 rear projection i had the bulbs replaced 3 years ago now itseams as if everyting is out of focus.images outlined in green and red.

Hi,
It sounds TV got convergence out ICs failure problem and causing 3D image or outlined picture.
There are 2 convergence out ICs mounted on D board in TV that need to be replaced.
Let me know if you need part number of ICs if you want to replace by yourself or call local Tv tech to fix it.

sony has a circuit than balances the 3 crt's. it needs a screen adjustment which is located in the front of tv behind speaker grill. easy repair
