To save the batteries, the scooter controller has a sleep mode, which is activated if the scooter is not used but
left switched on for some time. To reset, switch the scooter off and then on again.
On the rascal, if your driving along and it suddenly stops, the throttle lever could be bad or the speed control could be bad or both. A battery lead maybe loose. The tiller cable may have slid back causing line interruption.
The flashing 4 indicates current timeout, the scooter may have been going up a steep hill, over heating the motor, turn off and allow motor to cool. then try again. if this happens on flat ground then check the parking brake, it maybe hanging up causing the motor to over work. in order to get it to go faster, you could put larger wheels on it, or get an OEM programmer to adjust the speed. They did not want to be sued so they did not make them available. any of the higher speed scooters have hand brakes. There probably is a market to sell ways to speed up Rascals, but I can not except the liability. sorry Scooter Doctor App
