Question about Danco Faucet Stem
Handle stripped the splines and the tennant living there used a pair of pliers til splines are completely gone from the stem .now i need stem and handle . danco book at lowe's shows matchof size and design to be danco # 7E-5H stem assy and spline # E.But Lowe's does not stock either item . thanks rg

Have you checked with a plumbing supply hose if it is a square slot you may could use a handle off a boiler drain for a washing machine .
Check it out if it is a metal red or blue metal it may be the same type used on your washing machine cut off valve

Sometimes on the stems on the side the handle attaches is a nut that can be tightened. Inside this nut is a rubber or other type of seal. tightening this nut stops the water from coming out of the handle. If the nut has already been tightened then possibly need to replace this rubber seal.
