SOURCE: Power on problem for My Syntax Olevia LCD TV 23"

I have a 24" Olevia LCD TV. Same symptoms (Stdby LED is on, press power and it flashes off, then back on). The USB cable to the Service Port also worked. But being of sound technical mind, I figured this means that the PC is supplying the +5v to the circuit. What I did was disassebled the TV, carefully disconnected all the cables, and opened it up to reveal the circuitry. I looked over the circuit and noticed the 1000uf/16v capacitor at position CS21 was failed and bulging. I removed the cap, tested it and verified that it was indeed failed. I went to a local Radio Shack and picked up a 1000uf/35v electrolytic, after all, the value is what mainly matters as long as it's not lower voltage than the original. I replaced the new CS21 capacitor back in the circuit (it is polarity sensitive, so pay attention to what the original mounting position is). I reassembled the TV and Viola! Works! No need for the USB cable to the Service Port!

I hope this helps someone!

SOURCE: WONT TURN ON

Most likely, the problem is a defective Main Processor Board. This is the board with the antenna, RCA and HDMI plugs. You cant repair or replace component parts on this board, so dont even try. You must replace the complete board. The TV says Sylvania, but it is a bloody Funia TV. Several years ago this foreign company bought out broke-azzz Sylvania . They are still carrying the Sylvania name since Sylvania was a popular TV name in the 70s. Every electronic company in the USA is now owned by the Chinese, so call Funai and order the part from them. Dont be surprise if they dont have a clue what the heck you asking for. America and all electronics have gone to the puddles. Do you know why? GREED.

My sinotec stl-32vn23 standby button doesn't want to work how to fix that?

If the standby button on your Sinotec STL-32VN23 TV isn't functioning, and the red light remains on without changing to blue, it could indicate a power-related issue or a problem with the standby button itself. Here's how to troubleshoot:Confirm the TV is receiving power from a working power source. If available, try using the TV's remote control to turn it on.If the issue persists, unplug the TV from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in and attempt to use the standby button again. If the problem still exists, it may be due to a technical fault in the TV's power circuit or with the standby button. In this case, it's advisable to contact a professional technician or the manufacturer's customer support for further diagnostics and potential repairs.

Why won't the set power up?

The red LED at the bottom of the TV is powered by the 5 volt standby circuit, if you don't have the light you don't have a 5 volt standby and without that the set is totally dead, no power going anywhere. Chances are a new power board will fix your set.

I have a 51inch LG TV and never had a problem I turned it off as normal and then tried to turn it on a while later and nothing I only got a red solid stand-by light it don't flash when press side buttons...

Try following the steps below.
Step 1
Press the power button once. If the TV does not turn on, observe the LED indicator, usually located on the TV's lower front panel. If the LED indicator turned off after you pressed the power button once, it is in standby mode. Press the power button once again to exit standby and turn on the TV.

Step 2
Observe the Standby light if the remote control will not work. If the Standby light stays on, the television is in Standby mode. Press the power button on the television, then try to use the remote.

Step 3
Turn the Energy Saving Switch off, then press the power button. The Energy Saving Switch is located on the rear or side panel on most Sony model TVs. Refer to your TV user manual for the exact location of the switch.

Is the red light suppose to stay on when you turn off the tv with the remote?

Yes it is supposed to stay on. This is the standby light. The television still draws power as do many electronic devices when not turned on and when in standby. If you do not want the red light to stay on you will have to unplug the television.
