File allocation showing 64.0GB, Not formating

I have transcend flash dirve 4GB, I am trying to use its showing you have to format, when I am trying to format, msg says your flash drive is write protected, could you please sholve this problem..

If you inspect the Flash drive, you will see a little sliding switch on it. Slide the switch to the other side. Now, try inserting the Flash Drive and you will have write access.

Softwares for removing shortcut files in transcend 4gb jet flash drive

you could try right clicking on the shotcut files select delete or you could do a format
click start click on my computer you should see your 4gb drive card
right click then select format
another way is to control panel administrive tools computer management disk management right click on your 4 gb drive or it might be listed as a mass storage device
select format

Transcend 8GB JetFlash V30 Pendrive Device shows Used Space and Free space 0 bytes.

There are two possible
1. Damage to partition table
2. Damage to firmware

To fix the Transcend flash drive, you can use the JetFlash Online Recovery software, customer support from Transcend. This program can be used to save data, repair damaged partition table and damaged firmware.

I have a transcend jet flash v33 4Gb. I save files in it and then safely remove it, the next time i access the file it is already corrupted. I tried to format the usb but it still have the same problem....

Cause of damage is bad sectors

My transcend 4gb pendrive was unable to format .While formatting option ,it shows only 8mb

Try to format with NTFS option. Sometimes FAT32 file system has a problem with big memory stick. Around 4 GB is FAT32 limit. Or maybe flash has some hardware failure, because memory cells from flash card has limited write cycling. Some of them have controller for using of good parts, but sometimes it has too much bad sectors.

there is an overhead for the space on a drive, the system needs a File Allocation Table and other administrative information, so the total 4 GB is usually not 100% available. It would not work properly without this "administrative" space.

Some usb drives/flash drives have a little switch that locks it and makes it read only to avoid accidentally losing important files. Try looking for a small switch somewhere on the case of the drive and switch it to the other position if you find it.
