SOURCE: how do you change the string feeder on a ryobi gas

If your machine is a "bump feed" there should be a knob on the bottom of the string feed.....this is a LEFT HAND thread, so turn it clock wise and it should pop free and unscrew....re-string your cartridge and replace it tightening the knob counterclockwise until it stops....that should do it !!!... ;-D

SOURCE: I have a Ryobi 30cc

A good starting point for the Hi and Low speed jets is about 1 and one/half turns OUT from a lightly seated (all the way turned in) position, Never overtighten these as the tips can be damaged. This setting should enable it to start and if one jet had a spring on it, the other one should have one also. Maybe state carburetor/model #'s in another post?

Either the pull starter is not pulling or you are not getting compression. To check you need to check the spark plug is still snug. If so, remove the plug and put a drinking straw in the hole to touch the piston. Slowly pull the starter to see if the piston is moving. If the piston is moving and the plug was snug then you are losing compression somewhere, like a head gasket. If not moving then the problem most likely is in the starter, and disassembly required to investigate.

Ryobi RY40002 String Trimmer motor runs slowly and rough

Question edited to add FULL make model (what it is).
Category moved from Washing Machines to Ryobi Trimmer.

Replace the spark plug. Strip and clean the carburetor. Replace the fuel with fresh. But hang on though, the RY40002 is electric and runs with a 40 volt battery, so no spark plug and carburetor! :>D Replace the battery, lubricate everything from the motor to the head. Check the motor with nothing attached to it. The carbon brushes may need replacing or its bearings need greasing.
