Yeas it's a Harmon Kardon radio...LOL Contact theses guys, they'll get you going for a couple hundred dollars if you want to keep the stock radio for the bike.
Sounds like vibration damage. There are alot of potential causes. Contact Iron Cross Audio (www.ironcrossaudio.com). They can walk you through your options
You mast likely have an internal short in the radio causing the illumination control line to stay active. This has the possibility of draining your batteryand eventually doing some damage to the radio.

Internal issue with the radios amp circuit. The speaker output and the headset output run through different circuits. If you have headset output, all functions prior to the amp circuit are good. Radio will need to be repaired. Contact Iron Cross Audio for repair options. www.ironcrossaudio.com
