From what I know of ge, ice makers are independent. Mother board has no control over I'm. How old is this fridge. Some of the newer ge are made by Samsung and are control.
sounds like its set to high on the cold selection, and it needs to actually defrost , setting the freezer to colder much of the time will worsen the problem, if you can unplug it for a day and let the machine defrost ( deice) then it will be able to actually function better, Ice causes the functions to not be able to work properly. the ice maker leak could be caused by the limit switch being frozen , remove the tray and make sure that the unit isn't clogged with ice, if it is,, leave the tray out while you have it unplugged, and it too will fix itself once the ice is removed
mrs. justice u should have a setting knob that says freezer colder and by adjusting that knob a little making the frezzer colder so the ice frezzes faster. the faster it frezzes the faster it will dump making more ice. but if that dont work then that box should be equiped to have the more up to date one that has a fan in the ice maker that makes it colder and makes ice faster.. remeber the colder the faster the ice should make. ok try that. later gator.
you can adjust the control for the freezer side to a colder setting think of the freezer control as a door warmer setting door open farther colder setting door farther closed the fridge control is electric that runs the compresser can turn fridge down to creat more cooling freezer or set freezer to colder setting it is a balancing
act have actually closed freezer control to coldest setting and had items freeze in the fridge side where air from freezer first enters fridge a lower temp in freezer should help ice production
make sure the two vents inside freezer and refridgerator nside are not blocked....normal range is approx -15 to + 15 in freezer,...and 37-42 in fridge...take temp readings inside of both....a full freezer and fridge retian colder temp more...
Make sure the freezer is at least 17 degrees or colder (colder is better). If you have a square cover on the end of the ice maker see if you can pull it off and press on the gear face (don't turn just press). That may clean the electrical contact springs and get it working again. Basically if ya got water, 17 degrees or colder you will get ice. Other than that the ice maker motor module is likely bad (broken gear, etc.). Pretty common.
