Entering my own phone number to a fax machine

1. Make sure the fax machine is plugged into a power source and also plugged into a working phone jack.
2. Turn the fax machine on.
3. Obtain the fax number of the destination fax machine.
4. Gather the documents you want to send and put them in the order you want them to be received.
5. Fill out a separate piece of paper called a coversheet with the recipient's name, fax number/phone number, your name, your phone number, a short message and number of pages (including coversheet).
6. Lay the documents face-up in the fax machine feeder tray with the coversheet on top
7. Dial the recipient's fax number - put 9 before the number and area code
8. Press the "fax" or "send" button, depending on the particular fax machine model

When you send a fax manually, you can hear the dial tones, telephone prompts, or other sounds through the handset on your telephone. This makes it easy for you to use a calling card to send your fax. Depending on how the recipient has their fax machine set up, the recipient might answer the phone, or the fax machine might take the call. If a person answers the phone, you can speak with the recipient before sending the fax. If a fax machine answers the call, you can send the fax directly to the fax machine when you hear the fax tones from the receiving fax machine.

The telephone line is silent while the fax is transmitting. At this point, you can hang up the telephone. If you want to continue speaking with the recipient, remain on the line until the fax transmission is complete.

Send a fax using monitor dialing Monitor dialing allows you to dial a number from the control panel as you would dial a regular telephone. When you send a fax using monitor dialing, you can hear the dial tones, telephone prompts, or other sounds through the speakers on the device. This enables you to respond to prompts while dialing, as well as control the pace of your dialing. TIP: If you do not enter your calling card PIN fast enough, the device might start sending fax tones too soon and cause your PIN not to be recognized by the calling card service. If this is the case, you can create a speed dial entry to store the PIN for your calling card. NOTE: Make sure the volume is turned on, or you will not hear a dial tone. To send a fax using monitor dialing from the control panel

There is not much to do than to set the machine in the fax mode after setting up the time and data as instructed on the interactive menu .
You need to type the STD code of cambodia and the number of the fax there which must also be active. Make sure that you enter the correct local code if the number is in sub-district.
Ask your friend to send the fax after placing your machine in fax mode.
Make sure there is dial tone and you are able to make calls using the telephone mode.

Step 1Create a cover letter to use saying who the document is for and from as well as the intended fax number and your phone number. This alerts the office or home the fax is sent to who it is intended for. Place cover letter on top of your documents and insert them into the fax machine feeder facing in the direction the machine specifies.

Step 2Enter the fax number into the machine. There will be a number pad just like a phone on the fax machine. Carefully type in the number so you do not make any mistakes, as it is difficult to know when you have dialed a wrong fax number.

Step 3Hit the send key once you have properly entered all of the numbers into the machine. This will initiate the sending of the documents. The send key should be larger than the others and easy to locate. Traditionally, it is placed next to or below the keypad.

Step 4Wait for your documents to pass through the machine and collect them when finished. Whatever you are sending will pass through a series of rollers that feed it through the machine and copy it digitally.

Step 5Look for a confirmation page to print. This will tell you whether or not your fax successfully went through.

Real Time Transmission
When you are sending a fax, the machine will scan originals into memory before
sending. Then, as soon as the phone line is free, the machine will start dialing and
sending the fax. If memory becomes full, the machine will send the document in real
time (even if REAL TIME TX is set to OFF).
Sometimes you may want to send an important document immediately, without
waiting for memory transmission. You can set REAL TIME TX to ON.
1 Place the original face down in the ADF.
2 Press Menu, 2, 2, 6.
3 To change the default setting, and then
press or to select ON (or OFF) and
then press Set. Go to Step 5—OR—For
the next fax transmission only, press or to select NEXT FAX ONLY,
and then press Set.
4 For the next fax only, press or to select ON (or OFF), and then press Set.
5 Press 1 if you want to select additional settings. The LCD returns to the SETUP SEND
menu—OR—Press 2 if you are finished choosing settings, and then go to Step 6.
6 Enter fax number and then press Fax Start.

you need to program the numbers you want to fax in the speed dials and abbr numbers, then you can use a program key to select them all.
function-7-2-start [this is where you program your numbers]

function-7-3-start-1-start- then push your p key enter a name then hit start then select your phone numbers

did you put the originals page(s) in the machine FIRST to fax, then enter the number then press start?
If you enter the phone number 1st BEFORE putting your originals in the feeder, the machine thinks you want to make a copy.
The FAX Mode is the setting for incoming faxes.
Try that and let me know if it works.
There should also be a button called "Hook" or "speaker" or something that you hit and you will hear the dial tone.
Once you hear the dial tone, you can dial the number, (make sure the pages you want to fax is in the feeder.
Once you hear the fax high pitch noise, hit the start button.
