Jul 5, 2008 - I have indeed hurled my own ryobi across the yard in a fit. ... Some heads are not designed for curved shaft trimmers or on engines under a .... the fence so thestring won't wrap around the fence instead of whipping in and out.

You may need to change the head for the curved shaft.

i also have a ryobi weed wacker. if it is the same. you don"t have to remove the button. line up the 2 arrows one on wheel with bumpy edges and one by the button. you should see 2 holes feed a 2-3 foot piece of line into the hole the line comes out of for cutting and it should come out of a curved holw on the bottom by the button .tuck the end into a small round hole . pull line tight (tug on the section that you cut with). wind the string by turn the ring around the button. til desired length. if this doesn't work. google you model # and look for a manual (manual for ryobi weed wacker model # ------------.)

Typical fuel line routing is:

One line (the one with the fuel filter in the end of it) comes out of the fuel tank and goes to the bottom fitting on the carburator. The second line comes out of the tank and goes to the bottom fitting on the primer bulb. The third section of line goes from the top fitting on primer bulb to top fitting on the carburator. You can buy new Line to re-spool on your existing head

Remove the recoil cap cut the knot of the old cord off pull out the string. Cut a new cord the same length thread it in and knot it . rewind the spool until the cord in the spool. fish the cord out of the pull hole and tie on the pull handle

The larger fuel line goes from fuel filter to carbuerator.The smaller line is the return line from the purge bulb tofuel tank. mitchjl_1692

The lower flex shaft should cost around $40, unless you order it online and have to pay shipping. You should be able to get one from your local MTD dealer. (Ryobi is owned by MTD)
