It appears you may have a blocked or frozen defrost drain. As the repair involves a complete teardown of the freezer compartment, you may want to contact a qualified Samsung technician to make this inexpensive repair.

SOURCE: ice forming on freezer

The drain is plugged. This fridge will defrost every 8 hrs or so. When it does , it will melt the frost that has built up on the evaporator. This melted frost will run down a drain under the evaporator to a drain in the bottom directly under the evaporator. When the drain gets plugged the water cannot drain out of the freezer compartment. After several defrost cycles the melted frost will overflow onto the freezer floor. When the fridge starts back up it will freez this water is the bottom of the fridge. sometimes this water that is now ice will melt on the next defrost cycle and actually run out into the floor. You will have to unplug the fridge or turn it off, then remove the cover to the evaporator. Get a hair dryer and melt the ice aruond the evaporator and drain. Once the ice is removed, check the drain and try to clear it. Once clear, replace everything but the shelves. Plug the fridge back in or turn it back on. Observe and listen for the evaporator fan. It should be running now. When working on the ice on the evaporator always be carefull. The defrost heater can be damaged if up push or pull on it too much.

SOURCE: Sumsung RS2556 water leaking on

You need to switch the unit off for about 14 hours with the doors open and get a complete defrost. When all is defrosted, and water is wiped up. switch on again and check after 4 hours how "Stable or unstable the temperature is" Mostly, the door is accidently left slightly ajar and before you know it, frost blocks the evaporator then bad cooling is experienced. Remember to dry the water that would have collected in the tray on top of or next to the compressor. If it does not improve, call a technician as more complex testing is required looking for the defective component/s.

That water should have been drained away - instead it has frozen in place. That water can come from only 2 sources:
1. this is the water in the air that has condensated and accumulated over time - common occurrence in humid locations; close the freezer, let the ice thaw and mop it away.
2. the ice maker (or the water line) is leaking - you will have to check them. For that partial dismantling of the door and the inside of the freezer is mandatory, if you don't know how to do it then it's time to call a pro.

SOURCE: how do i turn off

Just pull the power cord or circuit breaker as the refrigerator portion will keep cold enough for the 30 minutes it takes. Use a hair dryer with hose to defrost the lower box, get plenty of towels and go to work.

Water collecting inside fridge, under meat drawer

Yes most responses are the freezer drain even if it is in the bottom freezer. If the drain is blocked water will build up anywhere inside your refrigerator only because it has no place to go during the defrost. Defective door seals can also can make the problem much worse. I( find a puddle of water on floor at front left hand corner on freezer side..I took the freezer drawer out and found ice build up under it ,could this cause my problem.. this happened about every 24 hours...

The problem with your refrigertor is that the defrost drain is plugged up. After you get the ice buildup out of the freezer section you will have to locate the drain system. It is in the back of the freezer at the very bottom. It needs to be cleaned out. Hope this at least leads you in the right direction.

GE Profile leaking onto floor

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section behind the cover underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey baster with hot water) Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

Kenmore fridge, 7 yrs old, freezer on top. Water sprays periodically from somewhere at top inside of refrigerator, apparently from downward pointing chute or holes on either side. This seems to be part of...

Removed inside rear and floor panels of freezer (ice machine also) as ably advised by your tech. Found ice damming he suspected underneath floor panel. Thawed overnight with pot of hot water in freezer. could see that small rear drain tube was iced shut; why all water going into fridge below. Avoided floor mess from thawing water flow to evaporation pan on floor by tilting unit forward on blocks and laying several old towels inside freezer door to catch water that would run out. Also placed some in front at base of unit on kitchen floor. Continuing to thaw pipe to unclog, it is iced some way down, again as tech said it might. Will reassemble and be careful with freezer setting, in case it may have been too cold. Also, some food crumbs had found their way behind panel near this drain tube and may have fallen in to block it. Will clean out any remaining.

Collecting water at bottom of frig inside under drawers.

begin by removing the grill on the front at floor level. look under there and you will see the evaporation pan. next pull the fridge out from the wall so you can get behind it. there you will see the tube. to unclog it you will have to disconnect it at the top and force hot water into it using a turkey baster.

Refrigerator leaking water

This sounds like the water line from the icemaker and the cool water reservior inside the refridgerator side. The line is a rigid plastic hose and could be a leak at one point that is small enough to allow water to run along the line. Also sounds like you have a humidity problem. Check the door seals and wipe them off and apply a thin coat of die-electric grease to the seal. this will help keep it pliable and soft.
The water in the bottom leaks into a trough that is made into the fridge. This usaully evaporates, This is for the auto-defrost. It keeps the water from getting on the floor.
Check to see if the outer door gets hot at the edges. If not, It may not be auto-defrosting.
I would first check the water line first as this seems to be a more serious issue right now. The line is probably loose at one of the connections between the ice maker and water reservior.

10 yr old GE side by side: freezer is leaking

Your drain is frozen up and so every time unit goes into defrost the water refreezes in the freezer's bottom. You either have to shut fridge off completely and let it dethaw or use hot water and an ice pick to hurry up the process. The drain is located in the very back of freezer. You will have to pull out the bottom drawer to see it. Good luck

Water in bottom of refrigerator coming from freezer (not really sure of the exact model as I'm not home to double check).

If water appears on the floor in front of the refrigerator once or twice a day, it could be due to a clog in the defrost drain tube. The usual evidence of a clogged drain in a side-by-side refrigerator is ice under the bottom basket in the freezer compartment, in addition to a puddle of water on the floor.
