Canon PIXMA iP3000 InkJet Photo Printer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jun 27, 2009

When trying to print a document that is only black, using borderless printing it will not print black - prints green. if same document is printed in another format (non borderless printing any size) it will print correctly. I have all new cmyk inks installed. I am trying to print from AI or INdesign.

  • Anonymous Jun 30, 2009

the print dialog box does not offer that option. there is no color in the document - and this only happens with "borderless" printing. i tried changing settings every which way - why would the printer print in cyan and yellow (making green) only - will not print magenta or black in borderless printing

I have a canon mp 240 and it Prints fine if you only need half of the document. It cuts everything in half! Like it reads the header wrong or blows up the words or make extra spaces. How can I get it to...

I thought maybe you have the paper size set to Landscape rather than Portrait. If not, then you might look at:

http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp240#ServiceAndSupport

I did some searching on that site and it yielded the hlep below which may give you some help.

Issue: How do I set my printer so my printout fits the paper size I am using?
Solution: Use the recommended Print Area MP240

Printing Area title-bar.gif To ensure the best print quality, the machine allows a margin along each edge of media. The actual printable area will be the area inside these margins.
Recommended printing area (dark blue):
Canon recommends that you print within this area. (o_darkblue13.jpg)
Printable area (light blue):
The area where it is possible to print. (o_lightblue14.jpg)
However, printing in this area can affect the print quality or the paper feed precision.

o_area15.jpg i_note.gif Note
Borderless Printing
By selecting the Borderless Printing option, you can make prints with no margins.
bullet_s.gif When performing Borderless Printing, slight cropping may occur at the edges since the printed image is enlarged to fill the whole page.
bullet_s.gif For Borderless Printing, use the following paper.
- Glossy Photo Paper "Everyday Use" GP-501
- Photo Paper Glossy GP-502
- Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss SG-201
- Photo Paper Pro Platinum PT-101
- Photo Paper Plus Glossy II PP-201
-Photo Paper Pro II PR-201
- Matte Photo Paper MP-101
Performing Borderless Printing on any other type of paper may substantially reduce printing quality and/or result in printouts with altered color hues.
Borderless Printing on plain paper may result in printouts with reduced quality. Use them only for test printing. You can perform Borderless Printing on plain paper only when printing from your computer.
bullet_s.gif Depending on the type of paper, Borderless Printing may reduce the print quality at the top and bottom edges of the paper or cause these parts to become smudged.
