This must be a common problem, since I Googled the part number and it popped up before I completed the number. I am going to have to order a new remote, since I don't have a solder pen. Wish me luck.

it sounds like the receiver control (located within the fan unit) is faulty. This is a small electronic control module that receives the signle from the remote control transmitter. The receiver can be accessed by removing the light mounting plate that holds the light to the body of the fan. OF COURSE IT DEPENDS ON THE MODEL FAN THAT YOU HAVE, HOWYOU EXACTLY MUST ACCESS THIS RECEIVER CONTOL. I suggest you call the manufacture and explain the situation; they can confirm my suspicion and give you any further thoughts to be sure of the problem, as well as send you a replacement part.

The receiver goes in the housing that holds the fan to the ceiling.

The transmitter is the remote. The receiver is located inside the fan mounting bracket next to the ceiling. If you replace it make sure to set the dip settings on the new receiver exactly as they are on the old one. Wire the new receiver exactly as the old one is wired if it was working before.

The red wire in the ceiling is probably used in a shared neutral circuit and not needed for the fan. If it's not capped off already, it should be.

Just use black, white and ground from the ceiling.

they are located just above the battery. you will need to match the placement of the jumpers with the receiver mounted in the fan.

You will most likely need to replace the receiver with a new one from hunter. The receiver is actually a complete controller and contains the receiver, relays (which you hear clicking) and starting condensors(large capacitors which hold a charge that is "dumped" over the windings to get the motor to start from a dead stop). These appear to be pretty tightly assembled unless you have a desire to start replacing parts "off the board."

I had the same problem and I thnk Hunter Fan knows about it....I just called Hunter Tecnical Support at 901-745-9222 and they sent me a new White circular receiver which goes inside of the canopy and it worked fine after installing the receiver....

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.
