My UV7i just opens and closes as it pleases

Some loose connection on the LCD panel to the device, or inside the LCD, by a certain vibration the monitor seems to get like a christmas lights one on/off..

you better bring it to a certain service technician to provide through test on your device.

thanks

Bad disk

Wow! That's a first. I used to sell both the Jensen AND Phase Linear versions and never a problem. It sounds like a bad unit. You say it plays NOTHING? No CD's OR DVD's that are the factor made?
The only thing I hav up my sleeve is to do a reset on the unit. If it has a button (I don't think it does frm what I remember) use it first, then with the unit ON, unplug the poer plug, wait a few, then plug back in and see.

Sorry I have no more tricks foir that,

My phase linear uv8

Hi

The Laser Diode inside the UV8 that reads the DVD media is most likely set too weak for the amount of dust built up in over time. This dust block the laser optics and causes the player to not read DVD's. You will want to go get a bottle of air from Radio shack and blow the DVD player out. The reason it is reading CD's is that its laser diode may be set stronger and is able to break through the dust. There are two Laser Diodes, one for CD, and one for DVD. Good luck. www.PlaystationClinic.com

Jensen vm9311ts problem

The player thiinks the CD is still in the player. you have a shorted or open sensor. Usually thee players have 3 phto sensors to tell the controller that a Disc is inserted , or ejected or present. Sometimes a wire or piece of lint covers a sensor and makes the controller think the CD is still there. Get you a can of Air from Radio Shack and blow out the DVD drive You might get lucky and this do the job.

Phase linear UV7i makeing the dvd player without useing parking

There is a pink wire that goes to the parking brake. It connects to the ground wire on the parking brake that makes the brake light come on the instrument panel.

connect the pink wire on your stereo to a frame ground.
