SOURCE: I have a Panasonic CQ-DF601U

It may be getting hot because the amp is shorted out. If you have a bad speaker or one that is grounded, you won't have any sound. Disconnect all the speakers and connect them back one at a time. If the first one doesn't work, disconnect and start with a different one. If none of them work is is in the stereo. If any work, i would check the ones that didn't to see if they are bad or grounded out.

I have a Panasonic CQ-DF601U ... I hooked it up but get no sound from speakers. Also the side of it gets really hot. Is that normal for the heat sync side.

Park brake code for cq-vd7003u so passenger can watch while car is moving

there isw a wire that goes to the park brake switch from the stereo, disconnect this wire and you can use the dvd function when moving, but it is probably illegal to do so.

No wiring diagram

the red wire is on and off, the yellow is live, black is ground, blue is amp turn on, brown is suppose to go to the e-brake. the four speakers are gray, purple, green, and white (one is all (color)(+) the other is (color) with a black line(-))

the rest should be self explanatory, also you can go to any stereo shop and get a universal radio hook up harness and just match up the colors and plug it in, very simple.

BYPASS

The security device was created to avoid you from watching DVD's while driving. It is simple to bypass. Simply take the parking brake wire (blue/yellow stripe wire) and connect it to the a ground wire (all black wire). This will trick the DVD player into thinking that the car is in park with the parking brake on at all times.

Cant get unit show dvd's

sounds like dual zone is activated, itll allow you to play dvd in back but not when youre driving. you may have to frig the unit to allow dvd display whilst driving, this usually involves a cable thats supposed to connect to your handbrake.
