How can I reset my espresso machine message center? The fill water tank message will not go away

I am trying to descale my espresso machine and the fill water tank message will not go away. I have tried turning machine off, replacing water tank several times, have made sure the spring is functioning in the tank to allow water flow. Have not descaled in 6 months, and this message not going away is what prompted me to descale. Thank you for any help! Marcia

SOURCE: descaling

I had this happen once and had to put it through the descale process again. Just put more water in the tank, try it again and see what happens.

SOURCE: Saeco Odea Giro descaling problem

Ok first check if the machine is in greenlight state when you press and hold the water button, as it will not work when the red exclamation mark blinking.

also check if the button work at all flipping back and forth to hot water and steam.
I have never had this problem that it dident work.
But remember this, you dont have to do the descaling again as that has nothing to do with the reset.
You can even reset the descaling alarm with out having done the descaling.

If that for some reason wouldent work I would think its the CPU card is not working.

SOURCE: descaling

(Button 26 is the right-most one (2 intersecting
ovals.)
From the Manual:
Press the button (26) for at least 5 seconds to
select the descaling operating mode; the LED
emits a fixed light.
• Direct the steam nozzle (14) toward the drip
tray.
• Position a vessel of adequate capacity under
the steam nozzle and turn the hot water knob
anticlockwise (16). The appliance starts an
automatic descaling cycle with pauses preset
by the manufacturer and managed
automatically by the appliance.
• At the end of the cycle, the flow of the
descaling solution is shut off and the 5 buttons
start flashing simultaneously.
• Turn the knob of the hot water nozzle (16)
clockwise to OFF. In this case, also the warning
light (27) flashes.
• Rinse the water tank and fill it with fresh
drinking water.
• Position a vessel of adequate capacity under
the steam nozzle and empty 2/3 of the
contents of the water tank by turning the steam
knob (16) anticlockwise; to shut off the flow,
turn the knob (16) clockwise.
• Let the appliance heat up and empty the
remaining contents of the water tank by turning
the steam knob (16) anticlockwise; to stop the
flow, turn it clockwise.

SOURCE: low water flow from gaggia

I have now solved this problem. The lack of flow associated with the pump working but running quietly is caused by the Group Head being blocked with limescale. Normal descaling cannot remove it because it cannot penetrate the Group Head.
Removing the Group Bell can be achieved using a collection of screws (see photo) and works no matter how stubborn the thing: levering it with a screwdriver in my case was impossible as it was so well glued on. 6d47425.jpg
I figure that the advice to replace the rubber seal once per year is a good one because it forces you to remove the Group Bell and clean it out.

Proper way to descale an espresso machine.

Hi
I have seen all ways to descale espresso machines on this and other sites and most are wrong!
Never leave the machine heating while the descaler is in the boiler. It's OK for a few seconds but never for minutes or hours. It will turn your seals hard as a rock and the machine will start leaking. If your machine is leaking you probably left your machine on while it was descaling. Factory programs, if used do not turn the boilers on in the descale mode for this very reason.
If your machine has a factory descale mode, use it. All factory descaling programs use the flow meter to regulate the descaling. The flow meter tells the computer how much water has gone through the boiler. when the machine is out of water the flow meter will stop turning and the computer knows the machine has used up all the descaler, and it will want to be rinsed. Remember the pump has to stop on its own for the computer to know it's done! Again the flow meter will tell the computer it is rinsing and when it is again out of fresh water it will tell the computer it is done rinsing and the descaling message or light will disappear. Remember the pump has to stop on its own for the computer to know it's done! It may say descale on some computers and there is a program for resetting the descale. It's in your menu as "Reset Descale". Choose "Yes" and push the menu button to lock. It's all regulated by your water hardness. I have mine set on 4 and my water is very good. I have over 20,000 drinks, and the original boiler. Saeco(Starbucks) Barista Digital.
This method can be used on any espresso machine.
1. Remove the water tank and fill half way with fresh water.
2. Mix your descaling powder (Citric Acid or Durgol Never use Vinegar) in a glass of warm water. When dissolved pour into water tank.
3. Open steam knob. Have a large bowl under the wand to catch the water expelled from wand.
4. Turn on machine (automatics will cycle then start pumping water) Regular espresso machines you will need to turn on the brew button.
5. When the pump has expelled about 8 ozs through the steam wand turn off only the power button. Leave the other buttons and knobs alone.
6. Wait about 10 to 15 minutes for the descaler to work, then turn the power button on and run another 8 ozs through the wand and turn off the power button.
7. Repeat step 6 until the water tank is empty. (machines that have magnets in the water tank will not let you pump the water tank dry but they have programs built in to use that will)
8. Once the tank of descaler is empty, rinse out and fill with fresh water.
9. Open steam knob and run the complete tank of fresh water through the boiler without stopping, and once its complete refill with fresh water and your ready to go.

Descaling Single Boiler Home espresso machines (HOME SINGLE BOILER ESPRESSO MACHINES)

Approximately every 3 months (depending on your use and the water hardness), clean the machine with natural citric acid based decalcifying agent.
1. Add a descaling solution into the water reservoir. Mix thoroughly to dissolve (use warm water for better results).
2. Remove the filter holder and place a cup under the group head and another cup, or other container, under the steam wand to catch cleaning solution.
3. Turn espresso machine on, turn coffee pump on and run approximately 8 oz. of solution through the brew head. Turn machine off and let the machine sit for 15 minutes.
4.Run approximately 8 oz. through the steam wand, and again, turn machine off and let sit for 15 minutes.
Repeat by allowing solution to run alternately through the steam wand and brew head. Turn espresso machine off after each cycle. Repeat process until solution has been run through.
5. Do not leave espresso machine on. Do not wait for the ready light to come on. Do not use the steam switch during this process. Do not allow reservoir to run empty!
6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly with fresh water. Refill reservoir with fresh water. Run half a tank of fresh water through group head, alternating between group head and steam wand.

Delonghi Magnifica 3500.. error message says "grind too fine, adjust grinder, insert water spout, press ok" message never goes away. I called the Customer service.. she said try again.. to...

Try removing the beans from the hopper and use a vacuum to CLEAR/REMOVE any grounds and then adjust the grinder 4 clicks clockwise. If this works Re-adjust grinder to where you get nice crema.

You can try using all ready ground coffee by following the instructions in your manual (if you don't have a manual let me know) to test it.
