For the guy that said he worked for pioneer and never heard of a pioneer head unit displaying "amp error". Pioneer are notorious for giving this error and any pioneer tech would of most certainly ran across this problem, you don't have to lie to kick it homie! I've never worked for pioneer or any type of car audio business and have ran across this error more than once. This error is specific to the internal amp inside your pioneer deck, either your output wires leaving the radio are touching together somewhere or grounding out somewhere in route to the speakers or your internal IC chip is blown. Disconnect all the output speaker wires leaving the radio and power on,if the error goes away then some of the wires were touching somewhere,if it does not then the IC chip is blown. If your good with messing with chipboards you can order a new chip for 20 bucks and install yourself with the help of a good hot gun that also has a suction. If not I suggest either chunking the deck or finding a professional to repair it.

I have never heard of a display for an amp error on a car stereo, and I worked for Pioneer. Barring that, you can try to reset it(shown maybe in your owner's manual). If you are interested in a repair, please contact me on my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.

Amp error message on Pioneer DEH-15UB. Vehicle was jump started twice would this cause this problem? The receiver is not connected to an external amp. The radio/cd player will work for about two minutes...

I just had an "amp error" message display on my Pioneer DEH-15UB and it quit playing. No sound at all. It happened while I was driving my Jeep. When I got home I removed the passenger side speaker from the sound bar and found the previous owner had used a wood screw to hold the wire to the speaker. That screw came into contact with the metal roll bar and caused the error. When I installed ends on the wires the error message cleared itself and now works fine

I have a pioneer vsx 07 11 and it says amplifier error

You see, the error message is coming from the power protection circuit which is constantly monitoring current being drawn from the receiver power supply. When the current exceeds the trip level it shuts down and give the error message.

power amplifiers has been shorted and the output transistors (one or more) have gone into breakdown and causing the excessive current drain. This will happen even though the speakers may not be connected to the amp outputs.

My Pioneer Auto CD Player has an Error 11 & 12 message, plays for a few minutes then the error message shows

the laser eye needs cleaning.....i actually just did mine today, just with a normal cleaning cd...if it doesnt work first time, smear a little nail polish remover on the cleaning disc, it works a treat........error 11 and 12 mean the laser cannot read disc properly......starts and stops depending on how much cleaning is required....

Problems with Sharp Blu Ray Player "copy protected signal"

Possible solution: You set up your remote to run your amp from the TV control, using the AQUOS Link. Even though your amp is out of the loop, it's still recognized by the TV. You might have to reset the TV back to default and run the AQUOS Link again.

Pioneer VSX-D411 receiver "Amp Error" message

Hello,
Unfortunatelly your receiver has failed. The front panel is telling you one of the power modules is probably bad. Not an DIY type of repair. These parts are near $40.00, plus cost of replacing.
Look at options to replace your trusted receiver with a new one.
Good luck

Amp error

I had this exact same problem, it can indicate that there is an impedance mis-match somewhere. i.e. using 4 or 6 ohm speakers instead of 8. However if you unplug the speakers and it is still doing it then you could have a problem with the actual amp circuit.

Mine was doing it with nothing plugged in and had dry solder joints on the circuit board with the two large output devices are. Simply resoldered those and it is fine now.

It had started crackling before it stopped working all together, which would also indicate the start of dry joints or bad connections somewhere.

Regards,

Rolf.
