For the guy that said he worked for pioneer and never heard of a pioneer head unit displaying "amp error". Pioneer are notorious for giving this error and any pioneer tech would of most certainly ran across this problem, you don't have to lie to kick it homie! I've never worked for pioneer or any type of car audio business and have ran across this error more than once. This error is specific to the internal amp inside your pioneer deck, either your output wires leaving the radio are touching together somewhere or grounding out somewhere in route to the speakers or your internal IC chip is blown. Disconnect all the output speaker wires leaving the radio and power on,if the error goes away then some of the wires were touching somewhere,if it does not then the IC chip is blown. If your good with messing with chipboards you can order a new chip for 20 bucks and install yourself with the help of a good hot gun that also has a suction. If not I suggest either chunking the deck or finding a professional to repair it.
I have a pioneer CD player and it’s saying amp error
I have never heard of a display for an amp error on a car stereo, and I worked for Pioneer. Barring that, you can try to reset it(shown maybe in your owner's manual). If you are interested in a repair, please contact me on my website at audioserviceclinic.com. Thank you.
