On the left hand side of the printer where there are two wheels, (white) that are being held together with what appears to be a plastic brace. This brace is cracked and not allowing printing to be done. Do you know where I can obtain this black piece of plastic?

Re: OPTRA T 610 Lexmark printer.
It sounds like you are describing the pick arm or autocompensator. It also sounds like you have the printer turned on its right side for that to be on the left. The part you are looking for is part # 99A1056 for the Optra T610.

the only ribbon that i know of in these printers is the ribbon on the thernistor for the fuser if this came out then the fuser as melted together. pull the fuser out and try turning it by hand i think you will find that the hotroll gear has broken andthe 2 rollers are fused together. replace the fuser
take a q-tip and clean the scanner window. this is located in a 3/16' opening on the roof of the printer cavity it will be about 8inchs long. pull the toner cartridge and feel with your fingers on the roof of the cavity this will be located above the transfer roller slightly towards the front of the printer. white lines like this mean the laser is being blocked usually by a bit of toner or other dirt of some kind
