When I put my micro SD card into the R4 card, put it in my ds (original), and turn the power on it detects that I have put the game in but the message "Loading..." stays on the screen - it doesn't actually finish loading. It seems to be the micro sd card - when I put a different micro sd card in the R4 card it works! Can anyone please help?

Stuck on Loading Screen This usually indicates that the software kernel on the micro sd memory card has become corrupted. It can also happen if the micro sd memory card is overloaded with games, music and video files etc. The solution is to reinstall the kernel software on the micro sd card and ensure the micro sd memory card is not overloaded. Leave about 25% memory free.
download SDformatter and format the sd card with that, place all the files on there, none in folders..

• Download the correct software kernel from the manufacturers website
• Unzip the files using a suitable programme such as Win Zip or 7 Zip.
• Open the folder containing the unzipped files and copy the 4 files (Moonmemo, Moonshl2, R4iMenu and R4.dat) to the root of the memory card.
• At this point put the memory card into your R4 card. Start your console and ensure the R4 card is operating correctly.
• You may have to run an upgrade file at this point

Hi denise, amh, could you please specify what r4 model you got? because there are lot of R4 out there, but the original R4 team had stopped producing R4's, all we have mostly today are clones. now some R4 only recognize up to 2GB of sd/micro sd cards, try using 2GB then see if that works..

Do you have the original R4 card? It's possible that your DS isn't recognising it because the original one (before the R4i and R4 SDHC came out etc) only accepts up to 2GB Micro-SD cards. You should check the size of the Micro-SD card you're using at the moment.

I recommend buying R4i cards / R4i DS cards from either dscardworld.com or nds-gear.com - probably nds-gear if you're in Canada or Europe since their international rates are a bit cheaper

First make sure you have the correct kernel for the card. Go to the website where you purchased it and download the current firmware. Next copy all of that onto the micro sd card. Build folders in you sd card, very simple right click...new folder... enter... then label them correctly .. Label one movies... music... games.. etc... then put your files into the correct folders.. Another common error is that people use to high of a sd card.... some r4 cards only accept up to a 2gb micro card If you use one that is too big it will stick on the loading screen ... If none of this works reload all the software onto the card and start from scratch... hope this helps

It sounds like you need to figure out exactly what kind of DS card you have. Check out NintendoDSCard.com's DS Card Setup Guide which should sort you out.

Also, I recommend only buying genuine cards since a lot of the fakes tend to break quite easily. Maybe from dscardworld.com or from nds-gear.com if you're in Canada/Europe since their international shipping's a bit cheaper

lol really like u can. you can buy cards that let you do that but you need the rigth one and the one thats lets you actually play the ds game which can have problems due to the cards limits.. look up r4 but even then ds games wont always run and wont run fast... just mod a psp then you dont have to buy psp games.. the psp is so much better and can run psp games from its memory cards.. snes nes sega playstation one and more [girl says]it plays music and super nintendo..do me

instead of copying and paste send the files to the micro sd thats what i do no problems at all

im guessing since you got the r4 card workin ok originally that you know how to put the r4 software back on the ard with the games? if thats the case thats good, remember its not the r4 carts that busted its the micro sd card thats inside it, get sumone to reformat the sd card through the computer, oh back up the game files first though! lol. if need more help email me at [email protected]. good luk.
