It probablby has a timer in it. You can reset the timer by turning it clockwise, and the compressor would come on again. It is usualy located under the concoles where the setting button is located. Look for a small hole under that console. If a thermal breaker is making the compressor cut off, it is usually located on the compressor where all the wiring are going in, along with the starting capacitor. Usually if the compressor is overheating and making the thermal breaker go off, there is a problem with the compressor, or it is low on refrigerant. A low refrigerant will make a compressor overheat. Furthermore if the compressor has been being overload by low refrigerant, it will be damaged sooner or later, by overheating the elecmotor inside and causing a short. If resetting the timer don't work and it is indeed the thermal breaker, unplug the machine and get it service, which I hope the compressor is still okay.

Dometic refrigerators DO NOT have a compressor. Thermal switch does have a reset button between the two terminals. It is located to shutoff the 12v power source in the event of high temperature to prevent a fire. The circuit boards on these refrigerator require 12v power to operate in both operation modes, LP or electric. Once you reset the thermo swithch you need to monitor the operation of the refrigerator to ensure that the cooling unit is not getting too hot.

Why does rm2862 fridge work on gas but don't have power to thermo disc. is disc bad?

Sounds like disc is bypassed. The refrigerator will not work on LP or electric without 12v power. The 12v power is supposed to go through the disc as a safety fail safe measure to prevent fire. Follow the 12v power from the plastic junction block. It should go behind the burner as a red wire with a black sleeve. Located in the black sleeve is a diode. From there it should go to the thermo switch and from the switch to the circuit board. If the 12v power goes straight from the connector block to the board then the safety recall has been bypassed and must be reconnected. The recall is a free kit offered by Dometic and your local RV dealership should be able to install it for you.

Why rm2862 works on gas but on power to thermo disc. what to check?

Please clarify your question. If there is no power to the thermo disc nothing will work. Both gas and electric require 12v power to work.

MODEL# RM2551 KEEPS FREEZING UP

The first thing you need to do is to check it on both gas and electric so you know which area to troubleshoot. You should also give us all indications and paramenters. Like the status of your propane tank - just filled; almost empty, etc.
Did you completely defrost the unit and when.
