Is it overloaded? Out of balance? Try no clothes and a small amount of water. It may give a clue. Depending on its age, a lightly used replacement may be close to the repair tech's charges.
Is it possible that the water level is too high. This can be caused by the sensor that controls the amount of water. The control knob that says small low medium large does it work if you put our small setting is the water stopped early like it is supposed to. If the water level is too high during spin cycle it is possible to run up and over the side. Let me know Ed
Hi, there will always be some water in the bottom the tub. This is called the sump. When your pump stops draining, all the water that's up in the hose will drain back into the sump. You failed to tell me how much water is there. If a small amount then it's normal, however if it's a large amount that covers 1/2" or so then you indeed have a problem and snaking out the lateral should clear it up.
If that is a new unit the hot water has to be hooked up as it will take in a small amount of hot water even on the cold cycle. whirlpool strarted this a while back due to energy use..try hot water let me know.....good luck.........
I would check to see if you have a hole or crack in the rubber boot inside the door. Open the door and seperate the fold in the rubber boot and check for a leak. If something sharp was left in someones pocket it will get stuck in this part of the bood.
Chances are they are not related if the water is clean. These units can run quite a while dripping small amounts of oil. The drain hose is a possibility but there are other places it can leak from. Call a local tech he can run the machine with the cabinet removed and should be able to find the source of the water leak. good luck
Your question is: your 3-yr-old dishwasher (Whirlpool 24-inch ) stopped in mid-cycle. A small amount standing water in the bottom of the washer. None of the control panel buttons were lit up and none of them will work. NO POWER
First check all the breakers (or fuses).
Second check the electrical connections. If you're not a qualified electrician or service tech then call one. It"s under the unit behind the kickplate.

usually when this happens the water valve is slowly leaking water. this small amount of water will freeze inside the fill tube for the icemaker; eventually blocking the water flow.
you might need to change your water valve going to your icemaker.
