If you have replaced the cartridge then it must be the cartridge pre-amp that is faulty. If there are any other functions on the device such as CD, then it will not effect them. Unless there is crackling on any other function then the pre-amp has a problem. The pre-amp itself is generally a single IC. You can find it by following the turntable connection back to the inside of the amp. The signals will pass through the IC before being passed to the main pre-amp.

There is a wire in the detachable cable that is broken inside so might have to cut and rejoin the broken part.Thats why when you touch the detachable cable you happen to move the wire so sound is only transmitted to one ear phone only.

Hi:
This is probably due to poor power from the power supply, usully bad capacitors that filter the DC power to the inverters board. The inverter is responsible for lighting the back lamps. Also check the inverter for buldging capacitors as well as the capacitors on the power supply.

it sounds like your cartridge is shot and damaged.
this turntable has fixed cartridge and only the stylus can be changed.

The most common problem with earphones are the wires. Usually near the end. You can carefully open the headset to expose the wire connection, and check for continuity.
