When I try to print I get service error 5100. My printer is also making a grinding noise - everything else seems to be ready.

the printer goes to print, takes the paper in then a high-pitched grinding noise starts and a window with the error code 5100 pops up.

when I try to print the printer sends paper through, then it sounds like a sliding noise as usual as if preparing to print then it clicks twice as if trying to print, then stops and error 5100 comes up

When you try to print anything, the printer starts printing and then stops saying error code 306A and that it has lost connection to the computer

Canon pixma mx432 printer error 5100

I have a Canon mx432 that was new, but gave me a 5100 message that I couldn't clear. I cleaned the transparent belt that guides the print cartridges, and now it works great. I spent hours on it until I cleaned that strip - - nothing else worked

Double images, error 5100 when printing, copying

5100 is a carriage error, check the timing strip for contamination(plastic strip about 1/4" in width)
The unit is not homing, check for obstructions.

Error message 5100 on Canon i560 printer

Hi You can Try
Same old errors
Error Code 5100
Solution 1:
Clean the timing strip.

Solution 2:
The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .

Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism.
