I bought this fryer two years ago and only use it two times a year to fry fish on our fishing trips. Last month it would not heat up. The green power light was on so it was getting juice. I checked the instructions trouble shooting guide and did what was suggested, no luck.
Ive only had this one for about 2 months and the power stopped lighting up and it is not heating up anymore! this is my second one. the first one i had for about 2-3 months and the timer knob fell off and would not go back on. this is so frustrating!

I usually set mine for 350. When at temperature I cook just long enough to cook the fish. Maybe two minutes depending on how thick the fish is. I normally do it by sight when a golden brown I remove it.
If you are battering your fish yourself, all you need to do is slowly submerge the fish into the oil, in increments of 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and then 100%. You can do this in less than 30 seconds, you're just giving the batter time to "set". Also, about 30 seconds after the entire fish is submerged in oil, give the basket a good shake. This should dislodge it from the bottom of the basket. Keep your eye on things as the fish is frying.
If it's pre-battered fish, then just drop it in, wait about 30-45 seconds and give the basket a good shake, as I said before.
Oil darkens with use the oil food molecules burn when subjected to high prolonged heat.
When frying foods such as fish or chicken use the oil once.
Do not filter oil over to reuse. Storing the oil in the refrigerator
may extend the life of the oil, this should not be done ever. This
process of chilling the oil and then burning the oil to room
temperature causes excessive splattering furing the heat up.
Storing the covered oil in a cool dark place, for up to three
months. ( remember to check oil when you use for color, smell, or
excessive foaming. Throw out if there is signs of all the above.
This unit has a warranty for one year from the day of purchase.
When starting let unit reheat 7-10 minutes. This will get the heat
to desired temperature. Re4ady light will cycle on/off during frying as
temperature fluctuates due to food load.

does not come out oily.

My Cool Touch won't come on either. I wiggled the magnetic power cord and it came on one time but then, the second time, I tried wiggling the cord to relenquish the problem and zilch! Becoming more and more frustrated and since my fish was battered and ready to go I started pressing at the connections. It turned out that PUSHING THE POWER SWITH TO 'ON' AND THEN APPLYING FIRMER PRESSURE IN THAT SAME DIRECTION made the light come on, signifying POWER!!! Hope this helps. I imagine that there is some type of connection from the 'ON' switch that just doesn't connect and by pushing the 'ON' button firmly upwards the connection is made.
Hi bro check the oil level of your fryer and the quality of your oil. The common reason of the hi limit tripped is the oil level is lower than the standard level and the other one is oil dirty need to filter or change oil because they not sense the rigtht actual temp of the oil. If all is ok drain ur oil and check if the sensing valve is broken. Thanks
