My scansnap 1500 stopped working - Fujitsu ScanSnap Manager

try this usually fixes it...
Uninstall ScanSnap Manager and reinstall ScanSnap Manager.

Try re-installing the drivers and try again...

check under the operating system tab to select the right installer for you.

I had a similar problem. My problem may be related to installing a second scanner (Canon MG8100). Reinstalling the ScanSnap driver solved my problem.

Go to msconfig or if you have a registry cleaner, go to the startup menu. Disable and ssmgr (scansnap manager in pfu). Reboot. Open the ScanSnap 1500 and then start the ScanSnap manager. The scanner is now ready to scan.

My Scansnap was being used through a USB powered hub.

This worked....Shutdown EVERYTHING and unplug computer from your powerstrip for 10 seconds (or just turn off your powerstrip for 10 seconds) It resets the BUS power. This solved why almost all of my USB devices stopped working or were behaving badly.

Reinstall your software or driver then you can remove that error.

This occurs with certain Intel dual core processors, so you might be effected accordingly.

I got off the phone with Fujitsu and i was told you need to make sure that the ScanSnap Icon is in the system tray without a Red Line cross through it, so if it is not in your system tray start the snap scan program, if it's disabled re-enable it and you should be good.
