My WL-138G cards loose connection info when shutdown

I have a WL-138G in two computers and each time I do a cold boot I need to manually reiniciate the wireless connection. It doesn´t seem to matter if there are security settings or not. It also doesn´t seem to have a problem when I tell it to reconnect, manually initiating the connection works everytime and it always persists until I shut the computers down.

Can't conect to modem

I have just set up a broadband connection for some neighbours using the Thomson router and had similar problems.

Leave the computer on, power down the router, leave it for a few seconds and power it up again. It worked for me.

But it seems that we have this problem every time i,e if the router is on and you switch on the computer it won't connect, but if the computer is on and you switch on the router everything works as it should. I haven't got to the bottom of this yet.

Asus WL-138GE causes system to hang at boot time

Remove the card and install in a different pci slot,it may be a problem with the way windows is giving the pci slot the startup request. Just also double check that the correct driver is being recognised and not a windows generic driver. Look in device manager on hardware tab and see if there is a 'x' or an exclamation mark (!) against the wireless card.

I can't connect to the router

Well since ur second computer goes online with wireless connection, so it seems the problem with your first computer. The only thing that you have to do is to update your wireless card drivers. Detailed answer: 1. Restart your computer in safe mode with networking mode. 2. Uninstall the wireless card. 3. Restart the computer and install the card again. This will definitely resolve your problem. Goodluck. ( Got the solution from ***)
