Samsung LE40R Hi On my Samsung when I switch to TV there is white noise but perfect picture. On the DTV the picture is perfect as is the sound. As my sky feed uses the TV setting for terrestrial TV I cannot watch SKY in that room. Grateful for any help.

Hi, I have a Samsung LN40A550 LCD TV which I have had for just over a year. ... Hello, I have exactly the same problem with the exact same TV, white screen for about 15 minutes and than image appears perfect as if nothing happened. I have asked an ebayer which sells TV parts and he suggested it could be a main board or tcon board. I am quiet hesitant to fix my tv, but if the tcon board would fix it, i'd go for it. Did You manage to solve the problem yet?

samsung will do a free repair i had the same fault and they fixed it fir free give them (SAMSUNG) a call.it is a known fault

There is no calibration for the component video that I know of, check your cables you may have a bad Pr cable or the Pr/Pb ones may be mixed up.

Y (the green one) is for luminance, plug in ONLY this connector and you should see a black and white picture.

Now connect the Pr. You will now see red tones.

Now connect the Pb. And you will see blue tones.

Reverse the Pr and Pb and see what happens.

Oh and make sure you don't accidently have one plugged into a composite video or digital audio port.

Still not looking right?

Go into the input menu of the TV and change the component (or colourstream) input from RGB to Y/Pr/Pb. (most TVs do not have this feature.

1. Turn off the TV
2. Press "info" then "Menu" then "mute" and then "Power" on your remote (As fast as possible).

The TV will now start up in Service Mode

I have a sr605 Onkyo receiver and just hooked it up to a new Mitsubishi 73" and I could not get the picture to work, sound did though. Here is the problem the Onkyo is HDMI 1.3 but TV calls for HDMI 1.3a. There is a big difference between the 2 and the Onkyo will not work with TV. The newer model TV'S say in the manual Category 2 V 1.3a. You need to make sure that all your parts are compatable. It makes a big difference.

i've just some digging around and found that you can access a service menu and perform a reset which sorted the issue for me.

Access the service menu by pressing, in order, whilst the tv is in stand-by mode:

info
menu
mute
power

when the tv comes back on you will have a service menu; select option 12 (reset) the tv will then switch off.

this will reset your TV back to factory defaults.

turn tv back on and you should be prompted to go through the plug and play setup again - go through everything and then all should start working OK (it did for me)
