Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook

If it isn't a software problem, then it's a hardware problem. As your notebook is only 1 month old, I would recommend contacting the place where you bought it, or contacting Acer directly, as you are still under your warranty period.

SOURCE: My screen is black but
The problem is either a bad inverter board "more likely" or the back light behind the screen has failed. The inverter is located under the LCD screen, and the back light usually requires the whole display to be replaced because it is built right in.

Pop the battery, remove the lower case cover & memory, remove the screw holding the HDD caddy in and lift it out via the rubber tab. please rate me if this helped you, thx.
