SOURCE: refridgerator beeps and upper section not working

First, the Samsung Refrigerator is the only fridge that has one compressor, but two different evaporators to operate the freezer and the refrigerator separately. Thus, you can have the bottom freezer working fine, while the fridge part will not.
The reason your fridge is not working is probably a faulty door switch in the refrigerator. The switch is malfunctioning, telling the computer that the door is open. Therefore you hear the door alarm go off in intervals, even though the door is actually closed. If the computer registers an open door, it will not pump cool air into the refrigerator, as that would be a waste of energy. All you need to do is replace the door switch. Until you get a new one, you can temporarily fix your fridge by simply removing the old switch altogether. You will not have any light in the fridge, however, it will cool again just fine until you are able to install the new switch (a simple plug-in contraption, by the way).
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: water gathering at bottom of fridge.

Your evaporator coils frost up in normal use and every eight hours or so the entire unit shuts down and the defrost heater comes on to melt the frost. This cycle last about 20 minutes. The melted frost drips into a drain pan and through a drain tube to the drain tray under the freezer/refrigerator where it's evaporated by the condenser fan.

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Check to ensure that the freezer fan motor is operable (you may need to open the freezer door and activate a button inside the freezer door frame in order to make the fan operate). If the fan works, then you may have an issue with the damper assembly (located in the fresh food compartment at the top left side). It will either be a "manual" or "electronic" concept. Adjust the temperature settings for both the freezer and fresh food compartments at the "half-way mark". You should also have a vent or two at the bottom left side of the fresh food compartment (check to see how far they are openend or closed and adjust accordingly). If the aforementioned doesn't help, contact an appliance service company.

Is your fan inside the freezer compartment back wall towards the bottom is working. (Evaporator fan motor) ?

No fan... No circulation.

Fan may have failed or another common thing is failed defrost system has clogged up the evaporator coil and fan blade with frost. In this latter case, you will see white frost build up in the freezer back wall towards the bottom in freezer compartment.

Better call a local service technician. Little bit technical and hands on job.

Fridge not getting any air, freezer is working

I have a Kenmore w/ freezer on bottom. The top vent in the fridge is ducted to the freezer and is supposed to blow air. Mine was not.

I removed all the frozen goods and took off the back panel (inside to unit) which had a little ice on it. Underneath the panel was a solid wall of ice......including the motor which is supposed to blow air up to the 'fridge. I'd bet a beer that is your problem as well.

The ice seized motor will not be harmed because it is resistance loaded.

The best part is with a blow dryer and some elbow grease...the fix is free! I hope it helps.

Fridge not working

I've had this happen to my Kenmore 73503 several times. The 1st time took me a few hours to figure out what the problem was.

Basically the fridge is cooled from the freezer, so when you say your freezer is -2 degrees, it's a big tip off to the problem.

If you look very close in the freezer compartment at the back, you'll notice an opening with a little door at the top of the freezer compartment. This opening extends up the inside of the back of the fridge to the top of the fridge area via a square plastic tube.

Basically what happens in my fridge is the family loads the freezer to high especially at the top/back. This restricts or closes off the opening for the cold air to the fridge portion of the appliance ....resulting in a warm fridge, but cold freezer. Just remove the articles at the back of the freezer to correct problem. (It will take a few hours for the cold air to cool the fridge down)

Note: the temperature control unit in the fridge area controls the little door at the top of the freezer compartment, so if you haven't blocked off the opening, the next place to look would be either at the mechanical parts of the little door or the temperature control unit itself in the fridge

Side by side freezer

Check that the freezer circulating fan is running. The frige section may have dampers or vents (lets the freezer air cool the refer section) that are open too much. Usually the bottom area in the frige has a control lever to meter how much cold air gets to that section (lots for meat, little for fruits, etc.). Check the owners manual for operation of those vent dampers.
