RCA rear projection tv picture bowed to middle. Red Green Blue colors have been seperated on screen.

If I had to guess I would say it's either the DLP chip or the prism. Simply put the lamp lights the DLP chip which directs the light into a prism and then onto the TV screen. The prism or prisms are responsible for aligning the colors correctly. The DLP chip is essentially a million little moving mirrors which direct light

If you're at all comfortable with electronics you might want to open the TV up to take a look. You might get lucky and find something obviously wrong with the TV. Sometimes adhesives melt and parts slip out of place. If your DLP chip is blown there isn't much you can do. You're probably right that this would cost a lot to fix and not be worth it.

I have an archos 404. i have a dvr station as well. How do i get my movies from my archos to play on my tv?

The Archos 404 attaches to the TV using either a DVR Station or a special AV cable. The AV cable uses a special small audio-style mini plug on one end to the standard red, white and yellow composite video connectors on the other. The docking station can record from and playback to the TV. The DVR Station 5 uses S-Video and red/white RCA plugs for connection to the TV. Optionally you can use the yellow/red/white composite connections instead. Hook it up similarly to a VCR, input from the cable box to the input of the DVR Station and output of the DVR Station to the input of the TV.

We just purchased a toshiba DVD video recorder DR430KU and can not get it to work with our Samsung bit screen tv .. we have satilite tv

I had a similar problem. After disconnecting my devices and rehooking them again. Was that you may need to reset the DVR to channel 3 or 4. Or go to settings and see if you see a a menu that reads "Reset to Factory Setings." Try clicking that and see if you can record from you DVR after you do it. It may be that your DVR was on the wrong channel of the DVR. I found this true with mine, it was set to channel 3. How it jumped to that channel is a mystery. Make suire your connections are correct in the back of the T.V. Red to Red, yellow to yellow, or white to white and "In to out." On the back of my HDTV it was so different. The cables from my DVR were R, Y, W. But on the back of my T.V. it was Green to Yellow, Red to Red Stereo, and White to White Mono. My instructions did not match what I had on my T.V. that is why it is very confusing. And 2. the instructions are too small for me to read. I called Customer Support for Toshiba T.V.'s. They told me to call Customer Support for Toshiba DVR. Which I did and they were also not able to help me. Then they told me to call Toshiba Customer Service for Toshiba DVR. I went back and forth. I did mention that before or the old way used to be that when you had an old VCR, you always had to put or switch the channel to Channel to 3 or 4. But they did not know what I was talking about.
I finally reset the DVR to factory settings myself. I am almost 100 per cent sure that it will work now. Good luck, and I sure hope this helps.

I have model number AVR587 Dennon receiver which worked fine with my nonHDTV; however, I just purchased a new HDTV and since the receiver model does not have HDTV the audio goes through the DVR. The...

it sounds as if your using HDMI out of the DVR to the TV which is fine but the better way to do this is to use the Component connections (red, Green, Blue) plus optical or coaxial from the DVR to the reciever and Component connections (red, Green, Blue) out of the reciever to the tv

No picture, no sound

we need a request on what the blinking red light means on your model number and manufacturer of TV, we can then try to see what the blinking light means,(although it doesn't sound good) You ca always unplug the DVR and see if there is a change, then you would know it was the DVR
Thanks for the rating

Adding a dvd player to my dvr and older tv

leave coaxcil cable on dvr ;unplug the colored wires from the dvr output and plug them into the output of the recorder;plug a second set of colored wires into output of dvr and into input of recorder;be sure to set recorder input to proper setting on recorder (input one or two) now you should be able to record what your dvr plays or just use it as a dvd player ; you will need to have all three on to watch tv though.

Just need to know where to plug in the red, green and blue cords

The red-blue-green outputs of the cable box are COMPONENT video, and the yellow-white-red inputs on the tv are COMPOSITE video. Although the words sound almost alike and the connectors look similar, they are incompatible signals. You'll need to change either the cable box or the tv so they match. Maybe this would be a good way to rationalize getting that new home theater system! Or maybe call your tv cable company and ask for a different box with composite video output. Once the cable box matches the tv, you don't necessarily need to change the cables. If the connectors fit, go ahead and use the cables you have.

We can't get the dvr/cable box to work with the tv

Assuming you have connected the DVR/Cable box with a standard co-axial antenna cable, switch on the box and go to the tuning menu on the TV.

Tuning details are in the TV manual. If you don't have the manual, download here:

https://www.p4c.philips.com/files/1/13mt143s/13mt143s_dfu_aen.pdf

When tuning is completed go through the channels to find the cable box. (Note: TV will not tune to the box if it is not switched on when tuning)

If there is still no connection, the DVR/Cable box may need connecting with a composite video cable (red / white / yellow RCA connectors), rather than just a standard co-ax cable.

The connection is at the front of the TV. There is no red connector on this TV so you will have to use an adaptor to connect both left and right (red & white) audio into the white socket. Select AV on the remote control.
