Question about Washing Machines
I am not entirely sure what is wrong with my machine: if I am doing the first wash on that day, it takes a long time to get started and run, and then it just stops and the play/pause button flashes red. I'm not sure which stage this happens at, but I believe it's just before the rinse cycle as the conditioner is not added to the wash. I've tried running separate rinse cycles (which also leads to the button flashing red), and followed by a drain, spin and another drain. It also seems to 'upset' the machine if I'm running the kitchen sink water at the same time. The house I live in is an old one with no central heating system.
It's a brand new machine, so I cannot figure out why it does this.
Please help if you can, many thanks in advance.
Sounds like a cold water problem. Try running washer set for cold water only. See if it stays running. Most rinses are cold water. If you have low water pressure it can stop due to protection circuit that allows washer to fill for only so many minutes. If it isn't full at end of time span, it may shut down. Try checking inlet valve screens for restriction. Turn off water and remove hoses from back and look into place where you removed hoses. You should see a screen in each one. Scrape out build up with a small screwdriver. Flush out with water.
DO-NOT remove screens to clean. If any debris gets into valve it can cause valve to remain open, flooding house.
