yes, I tried that, looked like it was reseting and then went back to flashing E1... any other thoughts?

Thanks for the heads up... The error is on the master thermostat, the slave shows C1... hadn't really paid much attention to that one so I'm not sure if that is a problem or not.

I spoke with a friend and he suggested that the thermostat might just need to be swapped out. The system was working fine before but for some reason with the power outages (I think we had more than one in a short period of time), it might have somehow fried the thing.

Any other thoughts or suggestions? I appreciate your input. In today's world, I am finding myself looking for anyway possible to keep costs down.

ok, what exactly are we looking at here, sorry most of these posts are small residential, thought you just had a split system. Is this a residential version of the carrier comfort network, commercial? I'm guessing you are getting this error code on the stat? If you are can you give me a model number of the stat. Usually located on the inside. Or describe it to me, I may know which one you have.

ok, sorry aout the confusion, I just looked up your system and just like all the other carrier programs, this one is obsolete. How many stats do you have? is this only on one? is this on a master or slave stat. looking like there is a problem with the equipment controller. Might be hard to troubleshoot from here but I can try if you want to. let me know, I would be happy to help you with this. Carrier programs are ok definately improved over time but they stop making the stuff when they come out with a new version. I just paid $750 for a thermostat because of this but was able to keep customer from having to change entire system.

Sounds to me like a bad damper or a bad zone panel. Turn tstat off and call for cooling on zone 2. Then see if your still getting cool air to zone 1.( where the main tstat is)

We have the same problem, was hit with lightning and came up E1

You didn't get a Carrier tech. Carrier technicians only work on commercial equipment. Residential applicaitions, installation and service of Carrier residential units are done by dealers. They are not carrier owned but get buy the product at discount get training and get to show our logo. You can't fix the boards, they have to be replaced. It sounds like you have a Gen II VVT system. You can get the part via Totaline stores or a distributor. You will need to know how to readdress the other controllers to operate correctly. Use WWW.Carrier.com.

Carrier Comfort Zone 2 flashing E2

the e2 error on your thermostat is a problem with the return temp sensor on your system, the only thing you can really do is call a company and replace it, you can't bypass it or remove it cause the system wont run properly
