I tried it, and it worked perfectly for me.
Go back to the retailer where you bought it and ask for a replacment and you should state that under the sale of goods act 1979 goods should be 'of satisfactory quality & in this instance the product has failed! Your rights under this act last for 6 years so i advise you to let them foot the bill!!

I have exactly the some problem - surely it can't be terminal. There's got to be a quick fix right?
Looks similar, but screen stays black, only the backlight is still working. Usually it works to take the screen off its power supply for maybe 1-3 h but last time it didn't come back again for more than a day....
My monitor is also about 18 months old and is whitescreening on me also. Hate to throw it away just yet. Will buy something different and hope for a solution.
