Dash trim removal: 5 minutes. This video will show you how toremove the dash trim piece on the Mazda ...
Every vehicle has there own tool for removing the stereo from the dash. It is basically an insert tool that depresses tabs on the sides or tops and releases the unit. CARQUEST usually has all makes and models of these tools and they are only a couple of bucks.
need the radio removal tool.it is two small handles that you screw into each front side radio.tool act as handles where you can grip to remove the radio from dash.
Do you mean remove the dash data, or remove dash device? Clear dash data you can use Digimaster 3 or digiprog 3. Remove dash device you need other tool.
The video shows a guy using a metal pry tool. NEVER USE A METAL TOOL TO REMOVE DASH PANELS! Purchase a plastic dash panel removal kit to prevnt damage and scratches to the dash finish.
Hello,
To remove the center dash panel to access your radio follow these simple steps -
First there are three Phillips screws that secure this dash panel to the main dash assembly. One of the screws is hidden behind the clock.
The clock unsnaps from the dash panel, but requires a very small flat head screwdriver or similar flat tool. You need to Insert the tool into the side gap between the edge of the clock assembly and the dash panel. Gently pry out that edge of the clock. Insert your fingers into the gap and pull firmly to completely remove the clock from the dash panel.
Now you need to locate and remove that (hidden) Phillips screw.
Now look on the curved underside of the dash panel. Locate and remove those two Phillips screws.
All screws securing the dash have now been removed. The plastic dash panel itself snaps into the main dash assembly. Begin by pulling gently on either the bottom curve of the dash panel or one of the top corners of the dash panel. Continue to pull until all sides of the plastic dash panel have slightly pulled away from the main dash assembly. Now pull the entire plastic dash panel away from the main dash assembly.
Now turn the panel around exposing the wires attached to the back side. Unplug all connectors attached to the air conditioner controls. The radio is secured by four screws, your vehicle will either have four Phillips screws or four 8 mm bolt screws. Remove the screws//bolts and pull the radio out of the dash. Unplug the wire harness connector and the black antenna cable from the rear of the radio.
The center dash is now removed and you now have full access to your radio.
its not to hard if you have basic skills or better you must remove the old stereo from car which can mean certain parts of the dash will have to come out usually the surround around the stereo you may also need a special tool to get the old stereo out of the dash then you will have to find a wire diagram off the factory stereo so you can wire the factory speakers up to your head unit also you will need to mount the new stereo to the dash which is simple a mount frame should be in the new head unit box
1. Pry all the woods pieces off of by pulling them away from the dash.
2. Use two ford radio removal tools to remove the radio in the marquis. Place one tools inside two of the four holes in the front of the radio, and the other tools in the other two holes,Pull them away from each other and out of the dash board. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the stereo.
3. Remove the screw surrounding the radio using a Phillip head screwdriver. Do not forget to remove the two on the other side of the radio.
4. Remove all the screw around the instrument cluster using a Phillip head screwdriver.
5. Use the steering wheel tilt level to tilt the steering wheel all the way down .
6. Gently pry out the dash , making sure to disconnect the two wiring harness behind the dash board panel before pulling it out completely.
